the call center gave me a website and told me to locate the dictionary on there but when I went to the website it was an out of order link.

i'm looking for basically both dictionaries korean-english and english-korean.
you say you have it? where did you find it?

The dictionary files can be found in the support/downloads section of the website, which you need to log into to access.

I too have a V43 and had it serviced once but it continues to freeze at times, forcing me to turn it off, then back on. I've gone to the website with my wife (who's Korean) and tried to put the update on there but no luck. Has anyone else updated the firmware to the latest version and if so could you post directions how to do it, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you think there's a fault then you really need to go to the A/S center and ask them about any problems. You could probably also get them to put the dictionary on your V43.

There are two main software packages available for the V43. The older one. Simple and basic. And the new Qtopia. More advanced and slick. At the website downloads page you need to select carefully the firmware depending on which software you have. When I was using the older software my Korean wife and I were able to download and install updates without much difficulty. Each download is matched with an instructions page that is very precise and includes pictures.

The only problem I have with the machine is the lack of support for English speakers. I was able to have a Korean friend help me certify mine when I took it out of the box but it's rather annoying to have to ask people all the time for help... other then that I love my little machine Smile

I can't type Korean in my dictionary either any more.

Kind of put it on the back burner though, as my main
problem is that it often won't start up at all!
(Even when the battery should be fully charged)

Works fine when the AC adapter is plugged in..

I wonder if this has anything to do with the day
I dropped it Sad At least it was in the leather
case at the time, but it can't have been good for it.

So did you manage to install the dictionary on a Qtopia V43? Or are you using the old software? If it was Qtopia V43, please share with us how you did it!!

I am no help sorry. I just remember being able to do it at one point, and now I can't. I've been pretty haphazard with downloading bios updates, different versions of qtopia etc. without really keeping track of them

I got friendly, and pretty fast service at the AS center in Shinchon 신촌
They supposedly revived my basically dead V43. I have to charge it up for 7 hours, and after that they said I should be cooking with gas.

Do you have the encoding set to Korean? You may have the menu and encoding set to English. It's in settings and language and encoding. The menu language should be English and the encoding set to Korean.

The AS guy fixed something and told me to go home and charge the sucker up. I thought I might have to shell out for a new battery, but fingers crossed, it looks like I won't need too.
