I recognize that customer service is lacking in Korea, however Pancho's restaurant is ridiculos. We waited over an hour for our food, with constant requests with flimsy excuses. The food is mediocre and highly overpriced. In any other country, I would have refused to pay.
I even filed a valid complaint to the manager in a diplomatic way, and received the standard smile and nod bullsh*t. Can anyone recommend a better place to eat Mexican food in Seoul? Thanks. |

Good Mexican food in Korea is an oxymoron. There is none. Chili's in Jamshil is barely OK
Yeah Panchos stinks, Mrs Oh the owner also owns Unique Travel so try complaining there |

Taco Amigo in Itaewon is good. There' s also a place in Hongdae that has good Mexican food, but I don't recall the name of it right now. Also, my friend is in love with Dos Tacos in Gangnam, but I have yet to try it. |

Pancho's has been bad from the beginning (when it was where Outback is). Expensive, not very authentic, and skimpy.
There's no value for money to be had there. |

Umm, no, it's not an oxymoron. Dos Tacos in Gangnam is so good that even if I were back home I'd eat it. For a Korean resteraunt, that's saying *a lot*. |

Where's home? If my home was Toronto (which it is), that would be a valid statement. Mexican food there sucks and DOS Tacos is really okay. If my home was Detroit, near Mexican Town, I wouldn't touch DOS Tacos.
I've found every person's idea of "good Mexican food" really varies depending on where you live and your experience with Mexican food.
But your last sentence is a great way of putting it. In general, for non-Korean/non-fast food my happy metric is "well, it's as close as they're ever going to get it." |

Decent Mexican food:
Salsa Loca/Casa Loca in Gangnam and Yeoido. Good, but a bit overpriced.
Dos Tacos (Gangnam): Also good, fairly cheap.
Taco Factory (Nowon): Started off excellent, later downgraded to good. Also downgraded from "damn cheap" to merely "cheap."
That taco stand in Noksapyung: Not bad, but a bit too much rice in the burritos if I recall correctly. Also cheap.

*sigh*
How I miss Margarita/Canadian Money at par Mondays in Mexican Town...
I'm a fan of "the place in Noksapyeong"... if you want less rice I'm sure they'd happily oblige...
Choi's Tacos in Sinchon is alsy okay if you need to feed a fix...
Panchos is crap... always had been... |

there's also a burrito hole in the wall place in sinchon. i can't remember the name, but they make a good burrito. kinda pricey though ~5,500 won. |

Efffffff Pancho's. That place is a cesspool of incompetent staff, stale tortillas, and bland cheese. What a bullsh1t experience it is every time I go.
Actually about a year ago it wasn't SO bad, but the last two times (mid-year 2006) were my last. Like I ordered fajitas, and the pindejos charge me extra for the little plate of lettuce and stuff. WTF is that? I was like babo cabrones mucho lechuga joya!
I ordered some kind of appetizer, maybe chips and salsa.. never got it. I asked THREE time for it to the waiters, still never got it. The idiot waitress cancelled my girlfriend's order because she asked a question about it, so we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for her food after mine came out. She finally gets her food (enchiladas) and they taste exactly like dishwater, I swear to Dios.
Haven't been back. Worst excuse for a Mexican restaurant ever. I make stuff at home if I want Mexican food. |

Taco place near Noksapyeong station is OK for the price. Its next to Thunder burger (noksapyeong, exit 2, go over the bridge, turn left, pass by the Lexus dealership/La Tavola Italian, used book store, walk 20m more and you will see it on your side of the street (right)).
Its less Tex-mex style though.
How is the one in Shinchon (Yonesei Sinchon)? Taco something is the name....Never been there but price looks OK.
And I am happy they now have New York hot-dog chain but that is off-topic. |

Word, Quinella!
Pancho's has been the worst imitation-foreigner thing in I'taewon since the Korean guy opened the imitation Nigerian resto just up from the corner of Beogwongdong Street and The Hill.
The owner of Pancho's accepted too many gifts from Rochie from 2000-2002 without even a simple thanks thrown back his way; and that Kim thang that sneered at all of the American basketballers while telling me that so-called balcks smell like dirty goats and that most caucasians smell like old cheese needs some rehab to cool out the line habit.
Who wants to see this joint continue to soak naive waegooks out of their cash?
