Greenland:The changes are still happening away from where most us can see them..for now anyway. Its going to pieces, wether you're conscious of it or not. Comfortably couped up in urban metropolis as most people are, its hardly surprising people are blas'ee.
Brace yourselves is all I can say...

And the big problem with this is that it all goes to sea level rise. Ice sheets melting are symptoms. Continental ice sheets melting increase sea level. I can't recall how much sea level rise would come from the Greenland cap melting, but it's a lot. A meter? Regardless.... because if THAT one has melted, the others will have gone with it. Call it meters. Heck, could be tens of meters if it all melts, no?

So, anyway, I'm fairly sure there will be rising sea levels and wild, unpredictable weather in general, but while some changes will be bad, the net effect on others will be positive. The question then becomes where to position one's self for future comfort/opportunities, what have you?

Plenty of new real estate and oil exploration in the newly unveiled greenland. just to make the warming worse...
Shipping will soon have a new Arctic passage open to them. Probably a few too many dangerous icebergs for the next few years though...

The equator will be virtually unliveable. maybe you could fry eggs out there for a restaurant business.

You could always go into water. it'll be a scarce resource soon in many places. You could always pipe it from all the soon-to-be flooded areas though.

or maybe you could try your hand at arms selling to supply all the new conflicts that will arise from dwindling resources.
Start a museum for all the soon to be extinct animals?

I reckon it'll go haywire a bit faster than scientists predict. When you factor in all the domino effects..

"Volcano erupts in Comoros, spewing lava and rattling residents

PARIS (AP) A volcano spat forth lava and black smoke early Saturday on an island in Comoros in the Indian Ocean, triggering tremors throughout the day and rattling residents, officials said.

The eruption of 7,746-foot Mount Karthala on Grand Comore, the largest of the three Comoros islands, did not endanger residents, Hamid Soule of the Karthala Observatory said by telephone.

The volcano started erupting overnight, bright orange flames showing up against the black sky, he said. The lava production appeared to slow by morning, but the volcano continued to shake and tremble throughout the day."

"Thousands of Sri Lankans trek to safety after landslides kill 17

PADIYAPELELLA, Sri Lanka (AP) Air force helicopters evacuated dozens of people injured during landslides in Sri Lanka's central tea-growing region that left 17 dead and others missing, officials said Saturday.

Thousands of other people waited on higher ground to be air lifted to safety after the local administration asked residents to leave from the region, which has no land access because of heavy landslides in several places.

"A lot of people here want to go," said Sameera Samarakoon, an army captain from the farming village of Padiyapelella, affected by the landslides."

God will return soon. But only after mankind has completely mucked it all up first. Shouldn't be too long now.
