Just something I've noticed: When someone asks a question about something, for example, "Where would one find a tanning salon in Seoul?" Many people provide some great information, however, there are others that want to argue what the person is asking for. With the tanning bed thing, I noticed that some gave some good information that's very useful to the parties concerned, but then others feel it's their duty to preach to the question asker and try to tell them that they are foolish for wanting to go to a tanning place.

Or someone will ask about where to buy a Mac computer.. instead of answering, some people will just respond with, "Why would you want to do that?"

Who gives a crap? If someone has a question or problem, then help them solve the problem, don't try to vent your views on what they're asking for! It seems like many people have too much time and just sit around arguing with everyone. A debate is one thing, but if someone asks a simple question, don't critisize them for wanting an answer!

Can't we all get along? After all, Monday IS Dr. King day (in the USA anyway.)

Some people just don't know what love is. Forrest Gump knows what love is, but some of the clientelle here have no conception. Not what they're here for. Pain and any attempt to inflict whatever amount of it they can is their only connection to reality. It's typical of adolescents in this wounded era. There are alternatives.

I had a dream...

Perhaps the baiting and arguing occur because those folks are not happy with living in South Korea? I personally think low self esteem is the culprit.

Arguing is fun for some people. At least they are getting the attention they crave.

This forum has more than its share of bitter, poorly educated, cynical, dysfunctional, lost, and insecure posters.

And you can be certain that most of those who fit this description seldom if ever post a thread of their own.

They rather play the role of hyenas, chasing after the killed prey.

What you really need is a heads-up to mark the 22nd of October on all your calendars: INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY.

The biggest haters of foreign EFL teachers in Korea are the foreign EFL teachers themselves.
