I hate when I go to a news website and the link is to a video clip. Who else prefers to go to a written article that can be skimmed and where you can find what you want quickly? I hate having to download some crap clip where you have to watch the whole thing, often times having to watch an ad too. The best of both worlds is a story with a clip to watch if you prefer. This signals another step into the world of "info-tainment". ugh.

me too, I never watch those clips.. I suppose for countries where widespread broadband is relatively new, it's a bit of a novelty. Personally I'd rather read the text version. If I wanted to watch TV, I'd watch... TV!

Yeah, me too. When I'm online I'm almost always either listening to music or watching something, and I hate to have to interrupt whatever I was already listening to to watch something else when I could just as well have read the story.

on another note, I wish the entire Internet would stop trying to make me watch YouTube videos. I've seen maybe three that were genuinely funny. The rest were not worth the interruption.

Yeah. No kidding, cnn does that all the time now. Instead of an easy to skim article its a video link. Ticks me off.
