On short flights (under 4 hours), Korean Air is bad. Old planes, bad food, pilots who think they're flying fighter jets instead of passenger jets.
However, I just recently flew Korean Air from the US to Seoul a few months ago. The flight was great. The food was still worse than the average airplane food, but there was a video screen with video-on-demand (so no sitting around and waiting for the next movie to start, or worrying about missing a scene if you go to the bathroom.) for each and every passenger. There was better than average leg room, and the flight attendants walked up and down the aisle distributing water or juice quite often.
They had a 110 v American style plug under the seat. The flight attendant suggested that we not use it as it may cause a fire, but the girl next to me did anyways, and there was no fire. |

They have free booze. Drink nice expensive drinks, pass out & wake up in Korea. |
I'll drink to that.
Good call, Europe. |
Just to let y'all know (cuz I'm sure you don't like to be monitored- I wouldn't...). After you've 2 (or is it 3?) drinks, the flight attendants keep a tab on you and write down in a little notepad how many drinks you've had and share the info with the other flight attendants. At least that's the procedure. I don't know if they actually follow it, but KAL seems pretty by-the-book in regards to their policies/preocedures. Just an FYI.... |
2 or 3??! Yo, over here! Yoo-hoo! See me! I'm the customer. And that makes me king! And either I'm getting my half-dozen Bloody Marys with an extra kick or there's going to Bloody Trouble! With an extra kick!
(actually, thanks for the info. Guess the gulfliend's going to have to ramp up "her" intake in the future. )

Hey, thanks for that info, too. How... how very Korean of them. "Why certainly, we have outlets located under every seat for the convenience of our passengers. But as they might catch fire and send us all to an early, fiery death, we thank you for refraining to use them. Have a nice flight!.... ya big pabo! " |

If you're flying Korean Air, be prepared to have to teach them how to make one. |

The in-seat video display is available on the Chicago-Seoul route from the US, but not the even longer Atlanta-Seoul route, as I found out last year to my great sadness. Mr. Big Head with KJI hair sat in front of the common screen, too. I now book all my back and forths to the US through Chicago.
I would also advise not getting drunk on the plane. If someone does plug in their computer and start a fire, you want to be sober enough to get out, if you can. |

I hate bloody mary's. My drinks of choice are pina coladas, margaritas, daquaris, brown cows, paralizers, cosmopolitons, basically anything sweet that doesn't tast like alcohol.
what are my choices on the plane, rum, vodka, whiskey......
and alcoholic drinks are free? really? |
