Its hardly a surprise white folks are dying out. No babies!! everyone is to preoccupied with their own little materialistic world.

A complete breakdown in natural patterns of life. next. Will marriages to robots be legal?
I don't agree with this. Whiteys are always having babies. The whole world is overpopulated!

They are not dependent upon each other to exist.

Nor are low birth rates of relevance. Many married couples choose not to have kids. Choosing not to have kids is responsible for low birth rates - not choosing to not marry. Granted, fewer marriages and fewer babies are presumably linked, but there's more to it. Also, Tesseract (the OP) in my kids thread said she's undecided whether she wants kids or not, although did suggest she definitely doesn't wish to marry.

Also, increased male promiscuity and financial incentives for women to stay home and have children is one alternative to a return to family values ( Laughing ) in order to get more baby Britneys and Keanus born. This might encourage women with mediocre (at best) intellects from lining the banks' pockets by working for peanuts in call centers (and other crap jobs our utopian societies offer the free and enlightened) and instead stay at home where perhaps that's what'd be best for them and best for the species.

princess....come on.

read up on european and northeast asian demographics or spend a day driving half an hour between houses in rural parts of...well...pretty much any large developed country. You can't be serious. The whole overpopulation debate was over a long time ago when a whole bunch of scientists got their butts handed to them by the green revolution.

Whitey is always having babies? Unless he's got a feather in his cap, I would say not so much:

Quote:
countries with the Lowest Birth Rates in the World
Rank Country Birth rate(births/1,000 population)
1 Germany 8.45
2 Lithuania 8.49
3 Latvia 8.87
4 Slovenia 8.90
5 Austria 8.90
6 Italy 9.05
7 Czech Republic 9.10
8 Andorra 9.32
9 Monaco 9.36
10 Croatia 9.51
11 Japan 9.56
12 Russia 9.62
13 Singapore 9.63
14 Bulgaria 9.65
15 Greece 9.73
16 Hungary 9.77
17 Estonia 9.79
18 Switzerland 9.83
19 Malta 10.09
20 Georgia 10.10

Check out this news about Norway!

Quote:
More than half of pregnant women under 25 chose abortion, a rate double that for pregnant women over 40. The abortion rate for women under age 20 was nine times higher than that for women over 40.

http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article1594604.ece

No one can be series about the overpopulation debate. Crowded cities and pushy ajummas do not overcrowded planets make.

You know what Western civilization needs? Regime change.

If you gave a crystal ball to a bunch of folks in the 1950s and showed them life in 2006.....puffs and lezzies walking down the aisle and adopting kids, 18 year olds who are barely articulate enough to put together a proper sentence of English going to university (and then graduating to work for a bank answering the blower to punters on thrice their salary wanting their balance - jobs previously occupied by high school graduates), birth rates of 1.3, they'd have asked me what drugs I was on and can they have some.

The 1960s people crushed the previous regime and we all became relatively free. And that was good.

But now.....now I seek to crush the regime that replaced the pre-1960s one. It's had a good 40-odd years in power and like any new government I shall right the wrongs of the previous lot.

I seek:

....increased toleration for male promiscuity and government salaries for women who are happy to stay the hell away from universities, stay the hell away from the world of work, and the stay the hell at home and be paid a government salary to raise children. Statistically, it is a complete myth and lie that male faithfulness and happy marriages between people in a large professional and educated sector is the highest moral good. It's not sustainable economically. More radical predictions are available. Salaries to state moms will be generous. Fathers must contribute financially and to the well-being of the children. This is more fair to men and would alleviate the social problem of unhappy marriages between men who can't keep their c*cks in their pants and women who marry for money because it's either that or work for a slave wage. It'd also remove to some extent the surplus of graduates on the fiscal scrapheap.

Non-inflamatory critiques of my utopian visions of the future are most welcome.

While people have no doubt always been promiscuous, why does this context just sound like a teenage boys erotic fantasy?

The problem is that marriage is outdated. We need a system that reflects current attitudes. Few people have a job for life, or live in the same place for life. So why have a wife or husband for life. Marriage should be like an E2 visa. A short term contract, any work on the side and you're out, even if you're doing it for free. If you run away mid contract, well you gonna have to wait till that contract expires before you can get married again. When your contract finishes you decide to re-sign, sign a new partner or get a ticket home.

I didn't read the article, but I hope my comments helped.

No, it just points out that you talk out of your ass! The family has been the center of civilization since the beginning. It basically shows how much trouble Western culture is in when idiots like you start to think like this! Rolling Eyes

And you took him seriously. Ha!

Should I take him seriously? He knows very little about ancient civilization. But he might have something on me being an idiot.

Still haven't read the article.

That`s not true at all. For the bulk of human history we have lived tribally, in "extended families", and the actual parantage was not even a big issue as people were promiscuous and all children were raised collectively by the tribe/village. The nuclear family as a formal institution only arose with the industrial revolution. It was the most efficient unit for getting the most labour out of the population...

Further, there are societies/cultures where the father isn't really an important figure at all. In some of these cultures the `fathering' duties fall on the shoulders of the mother's-eldest-brother. In these societies the biological father behaves more like a friendly uncle.
