UK Mosques. Part 1 Of 3.
09:37
This investigation into Britain's mosques, by Channel 4's respected Dispatches programme, has revealed worrying evidence of just how rife Islamic extremism is among Muslim preachers. The undercover TV inquiry, conducted over ten months, reveals some religious clerics urging their congregations to start preparing for jihad (holy war) against infidels or non-Muslims. Another is caught on camera telling families to hit their daughters for not covering their heads with the veil or hijab. One imam from a Derby mosque, called Dr Ijaz Mian, was filmed calling for the creation of an Islamic 'state within a state' in Britain before the country is taken over by Muslims. Addressing a group of youths, he said: 'King. Queen. House of Commons ... if you accept it, you are part of it. If you don't accept it, you have to dismantle it. So you being a Muslim, you have to fix a target. There will be no House of Commons ... Muslims just grow in strength ... then take over.' The programme paints an alarming picture of how preachers, even at what are regarded as the most moderate mosques, urge their followers to reject Britain's legal system in favour of shariah law and its radical rulebook. The investigators spent four months filming undercover at one mosque, Green Lane in Birmingham, which caters for thousands of worshippers. The main preacher is Abu Usamah, an American convert to Islam, who studied at Medinah University in Saudi Arabia, before coming to Britain. He is seen telling worshippers not to believe that Islamic terrorists are operating in Britain, as all non-Muslims are liars. In another sequence, he is heard saying that Christians and Jews are 'kuffaars' (non-believers) and the enemies of Islam. 'No one loves the kuffaar, not a single person loves the kuffaar,' he rants. 'We hate the kuffaar!' Then he adds, triumphantly: 'Allah has not given those people who are kuffaar a way over the believer. They shouldn't be in authority over us. Muslims shouldn't be satisfied with anything other than a total Islamic state. 'I encourage all of you to begin to cultivate ourselves for the time that is fast approaching - where the tables are going to turn and the Muslims are going to be in the position of being uppermost in strength. And when that happens, people won't get killed - unjustly,' he promises. As for women, he says they are 'deficient, even if they have a PhD. Her intellect is incomplete. She may be suffering from hormones that will make her emotional. It takes two witnesses of a woman to equal the one witness of a man.' He goes on to say that gays deserve to die. 'If I were to call homosexuals perverted, dirty, filthy dogs who should be murdered ... that's my freedom of speech, isn't it?' The TV investigators also bought damning videos and DVDs of speeches by Muslim preachers from a shop at the London Central Mosque in Regent's Park. The mosque has always been hailed by the Muslim Council of Britain and the Government as a symbol of reason and mainstream Islamic life in this country. But the programme's team found copies of films of preachers decrying the equality of women as a 'bunch of foolishness' and claiming that Christian missionaries put the Aids virus into medicines in order to poison the people of Africa. The TV expos, like the Mail's own investigation in Surrey, shows that the systematic brainwashing of Muslims by their religious leaders is now commonplace. And it appears to be producing results. Twenty-eight per cent said they believed Britain should be an Islamic state. In another worrying sign, one in three young Muslims said that the London bombings were justified because Britain had joined America in the 'war on terror'. http://www.channel4.com/news/dispatches/article.jsp?id=1066#start

This is getting tiring............
Of course people should raise a stink about this, in whatever fashion. And of course people should raise a stink about all the churches spouting the same kind of hate.
But just posting this stuff like this, is just spreading hate and intended to marginalize a whole religion. Stupid. I think Huffdaddy or someone else, on another thread, correctly addressed this. To paraphrase what he said,
"it isn't about one religion being evil and another good. It is about all the fanatics and extremists of both."

You can't be serious. What other religion says that gay men should be thrown off a mountain? Or that women need two witnesses so that they equal a man? They recommend physical violence against women. Calling for the death of all jews and that they are all pigs.
When a religion incites hatred and violence against a special group/weaker groups of people then it needs to be stood against.
DD you should become aware of the scripture,
They cried, "Peace, Peace" when there was no peace. |

Well, the manner is open to debate, but jolly old Leviticus is clear about this ....

Leviticus 20:13 (New King James Version)
13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

You are not going to win this debate, 5E, and you were moderately idiotic for opening yourself up to the ass-kicking you are about to recieve. |

Yes, I know JC was a Middle Easterner and in their culture men kissing each other on the cheek has no sexual connotation, but I always wondered where the hands go when the lips are on the cheek. And there are an awful lot of sheep and unmarried young men running around the countryside without chaperones in the New Testament. As someone with experience told me, sheep are better than pigs because you can hold on better--which explains the ban on pork better than anything else I've ever heard. |

I know enough to know how tainted it is. Or are you just refering to "the Good book". Lots good about it, lots horrific and terrible.
My greatest lessons in life have come from the bible. Including Christ. But I don't hang on words and apply it to my life with jurisprudence.
I would apply a few words of a VERY Christian person who knew his scripture much better than yourself, William Blake.
Quote: |
A truth that's told with bad intent Beats all the lies you can invent. |
But that is too innocent, I would continue with...
Quote: |
This life's dim windows of the soul. Distorts the heavens from pole to pole. And leads you to believe a lie when you see with, not through, the eye. |
But I prefer Eckhardt next to my Ecclessiastes. This would apply to you...
Quote: |
God is at home, it's we who have gone out for a walk. |
Get rid of that Grand Inquisitor inside yourself and then you might see that God is at home waiting for you to put down your good book and believe the flesh that is word and not a book.

William Blake was a Gnostic (Christian). So was Meister Eckhardt when it really comes down to it. Not that I disagree with what you are saying. Just doing a fact check. |

Nothing in that link is a word spoken by Christ.
Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Paul was a marketeer, with a business mind, a populist, an evangelist.
Peter was the heir, the rock.

Since it seems that half of the old testament needs to be kicked to the curb, does this include the intelligent creator of the universe stuff as well? |

Point taken, agreed. But they were very aware of scripture and their underlying message is the same message of MANY Christians of authority -- that is, scripture isn't a set of literal commandments, statements of explicit truth. Rather, it is only what might be revealed when we "see" in truth. If you aren't there yet, what you might read in scripture could be purely evil. And for evil ends.
And nobody can tell you -- "you are there yet". And if you would say you are, you better be prepared for a beating, just like Mr. Fox marching into Leicestershire, full of scripture, hell and brimstone.....
The literalist / fundamentalist interpretation and unwavering belief in the "words" of the bible, is a pillow to gather the flock. It leads many astray and is an easy way around the concept of "living your own life, the life of experience" and not to mention, free will.
So scripture is "relative", as all text. It is God's gift to us, that of free will, that provides any "truth". Not the words themselves. Life is not paint by numbers to me, nor is the future, in a cup of tea....

Members of your religion call exactly for that. Ummm check out your Christian Identity brothers.

They pray to the same Jesus as you, god boy. They use the same holy book as you, god boy. But I guess while you don't want to kill homosexuals, you just don't want them to have the same human rights as you. You're not much better in my eyes. *spit* |
