Yeah, that's deep stuff. And I'll bet it's melodious and such a catchy tune to boot.
Sorry, man, I'll take Dylan, Springsteen, and a host of others over that crap any day. |

I bet if you said that in a mocking, whiney voice you'd be a right terror at the junior high. |

It seems there are a few folks out here that like to claim Canadian born folks as Americans....I would like to point out this:
2006 NBA MVP, Steve Nash, Canadian passport holder.
2006 NHL MVP, Joe Thorton, Canadian passport holder.
2006 AL MLB MVP, Justin Morneau, Canadian passport holder.
Im not here to rah rah rah Canada, I am only pointing out facts.
Just hours after the 2002 US/Canada Gold Medal Ice Hockey Game was played my sister and her husband were on a boat cruise out of Miami. The MC was a Canadian kid who got up in front of the crowd and announced the score and many Americans began to boo....his reply to about 500 people on a microphone was "Yeah, well, we raise em and teach em, and you buy em! Who gets the last laugh!?" Pissed myself laughing on that one.

While all 3 are Canadian passport holders, I would like to point some things out.
Steve Nash is a fine basketball player and Canadian. However, at no point in his career would be one of the top 5 selected to build a team around. The best five players in the NBA have been been either Americans or a German guy named Dirk. Even if were accepted the arguement that Nash is a top 5 player, he is the ONLY Canadian in the top 50 basketball players. If that. Bravo.
Thorton. A Canadian being the MVP of NHL. No kidding, eh? To bad just about as many people care who is the WWE champ as that.
Justin Morneau isn't even the best non-American on his team let alone the AL MVP irregardless of what the writers say. Its all about a Mr. Santana.
I have nothing against Canada but these post pointing out famous Canadians in certain fields is just silly. Everytime a Canadian tells me about Steve Nash I have to hold back the urge to tell them he can barely stay on the court with Lebron James and Lebron is only 21 while Steve Nash is a oft traded product of playing behind such fine Americans as Jason Kidd. Or look, a Candian won a baseball AL MVP, take the America's past time, as if we hadn't had latin players winning these awards for quite some time with NO issue. Never read a post from the Dominican Republic reminding me of their fine players. They can speak for themselves must be the theory. Three cheers for them. |

you do realize Nash won the last two MVP awards right? And that LeBron has won zero?
Traded twice (and only been on two teams)=oft-traded?
Someone needs to follow the NBA a little more closely.
And BTW, espn.com rated him one of the top 10 point guards of all-time.
ESPN article
And no, i'm not canadian. |

You wouldn't build a team around Nash? Really? They guy passes the ball and makes everyone on his team better! He had 21 assists last week and only 4 points and they clearly won the game. And as someone else pointed out, Nash: 2 MVPs, James:0. And i think Steve is going to win it again this year too! And he maybe the only Canuck in the top 50, but he is 1st! There is something to be said there.
As for your take on Joe Thorton and how no one cares, I feel the same way about Morneau and MLB. You may not agree that he should have won, but they have awards for pitchers (Cy Young) and non pitchers (MVP, but we both know its rare that a pitcher takes the MVP, hence the CY).
Bro, you seem like a good cat in that your not Canuck bashing, and I respect that to the end, and i applaud you for that cause its easy to be a dick here. I just wanted to point out though that in 2006, it was 3 Canadians who took home some big American athletic hardware, who were voted by either their peers or American sports writers.
