Just so we're clear, are you arguing the opposite of what you believe? Because your post sounds quite reasonable, and very much in keeping with what I regard as your generally measured, even-handed opinions.

(And that is my sincere opinion of your posts in general.)

Thanks for the compliment. I try to be even-handed. I believe in trying to give people a fair shake. Maybe, I misunderstood your post. That could be it. Your picture, tell me about it. Why did you choose it?
I wondered about that. Who is that person?

Mith:

I hate to break the news to ya, but you won't find any Korean racing girls in the DPRK.

You will, however, see some girls waving little flags while they have the rickshaw races, with ribs protruding so much you could play the xylophone on them.

Everyone knows that, because of World War 2, America has earned the right to invade who it wants, when it wants, for whatever reason it deems sufficient, now and for the foreseeable future. And whiners should just shut up and be grateful they were invaded by the USA because they'd get it way worse if it was any other country doing it.

That's Mary McCarthy, a left-wing American writer.

(Of course, I have some doubt as to her claimed nationality, as it's a well known fact that there is not one single person in the brainwashed USA who subscribes to any political view left of Reagan Republicanism.)

What kind of imperialist propaganda is this, singling out North Korea as a place where people are starving? I've seen some pretty emaciated fashion models on the New York runways.

on the other hand:

You're more obtuse than a brick wall. Fashion models are emaciated out of personal choice because of their overinflated egos and their constant chatter about anorexia. Malnourished North Koreans have no choice. Can you not see the difference?

Are you a member of the KTF that conducts propaganda tours of the DPRK? Sure sound like it.

If you admire Mary McCarthy, that explains everything. I'm wasting my time with a wannabe commie.

Yes, well if the US would just let the North possess nuclear weapons they wouldn't need to worry about a high military budget and they could get back to feeding the people. The US is indirectly starving the people of the North. I was actually thinking just the other day how much nicer this part of Asia would be if people just gave in to the North a little bit more. I'm disappointed with China as well because they failed to show support to their ally after the tests.

Talk about obtuse!

Reports of starvation in the North are wildly exaggerated--just one more example of American propaganda, the result of their sick obsession with the Dear Leader. It's common knowledge that the photos are doctored in Hollywood labs. Computer Generated Graphics, anyone?

Some people read a thread and figure out the topic before posting a response. Other people see a key word or phrase and just go ballistic. Open mouth; insert foot.

When did American corner the market on "Starving the North Koreans"?

America is not the only country to send food aid. Actually the bulk came from South Korea and Japan.

Why should America be held responsible?

North Korea: "Feed me then leave me alone to build my weapons and counterfet your money!" "I will destroy your economy and demand your respect!"
Six Party talks? Would this mean there are six nations involved?
America leads the talks mainly because it was the dollar being counterfited.

I assumed that the majority of the reports of starving citizens came from those Koreans who had managed to escape mainly through China.

Don't forget this all began because of funny money and frozen bank accounts. Then the north shot a wad into the sea and all hell broke loose.
That extremely aggressive act shook more than America. How many neighbors does the North have? America is out of reach for now.
Yet, here we are.

Ready for America to just walk away?

Hey, what are you talking about? He's totally onto the theme of the thread. It is you who are the obtuse one!

Focus on the facts my friend, and refrain from ad hominem attacks! Gotta be like Steve and all.

Very nice catch, OTOH.

A remarkably accurate representation, I'd say.

Thanks for that Gang Ah Jee!

I'd say the people who produced that poster are representative of the best that the culturally sophisticated European civilization has to offer the world!

I am not really familiar with her. What grabs you about her work. The last part was funny. No one to the left of Reagan type politics:)
