Hi
Any advice would be appreciated.
Recently completed a Tefl course on Samui. I'm now in Bangkok thinking about going to either Korea, Taiwan or Japan.
I'm thinking of just going and then finding a job.
I'm 38 with a business studies degree and been in business or self employed sales most of my life apart from a spell in the police and the navy. Would prefer to teach adults.
Which country has the best market for teaching adults?
I graduated in 1991 from Preston Polytechnic which soon after changed to the University of Central Lancashire. I lost my degree certificate 10 years ago and got a replacement soon after. However the awards organisation that awarded the original no longer existed at the time so the replacement certificate was issued by the Open University which had taken over. So the cert has a big O.U. logo on it aswell stating where I graduated from. Would this be a problem?
Sealed transcripts:
I contacted U.C.Lan recently re: sealed transcripts they said that at the time of my graduation records were only partially computerised. They can only supply minimal information about me. No grades, no details of any of the modules I studied, basically only the dates I attended and my qualification. Would this be good enough for the countries I've mentioned?
Do I still need sealed transcripts for immigration if teaching adults?
Termination of contract:
If I don't like a place can I terminate the contract giving a months notice without immigration repercussions? |

In Korea, yes. I don't know about Japan or Taiwan.

In Korea you can quit but the school doesn't have to give you a letter of release which you will need to get another job. |

Any type of confirmation of attendance letter in lieu of a transcript will do. Immigration seems to worry more about the type of seal on the envelope rather than what's inside it. |
