The Veggie Club is ringing in the new year with a meet-up outside of Seoul for once -- in the lovely city of Anyang, which has many excellent tofu restaurants a short cab ride away from Anyang Station, and is about 45 -- 60 minutes from both Seoul and Suwon.

The only question is -- do people want Saturday or Sunday? Make your voice heard!

So far, Sunday is pitching a shutout (it seems that most vegetarians in Korea are apathetic about voting on Internet polls...)

Here's a link to the big vegetarian thread:http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=53723

OK, e-mails tipped the scales in favor of Sunday. So, we'll meet this Sunday at 12:30 at Anyang Station, which is on both lines 1 and 4. See you there!

Is the subway station near the Anyang bus terminal? I think it's better for me to take a bus directly to Anyang from the hick town I live in instead of going to East Seoul terminal first...
(BTW, I still have five copies of the pocket-sized Higher Taste "karma-free" cook book that I'll give out to the first people that ask me for them...)

Hmm, I don't actually know where the bus terminal is. I guess you could take the bus and then cab it.

I corrected my misspelling of the town, it's Anyang - not Anyong. I think that I'll just take my usual bus route to the subway and connect to the olive green line #7 until Galbong (746) then transfer to that dark blue line extension (heading towards Suwon...) for another five stops till I reach Anyang Station (P147)...

Hey, if they let me in, anyone can join! Just show up at Anyang station Sunday by 12:30 and look for a bunch of foreigners. (I suspect that it won't be that big a turnout this time because of vacations...)

Also send a PM to "Hater Depot" to get on the mailing list - if he sees it before tomorrow, I'm sure that he'd get back to you with his phone number in case you get lost. Actually, I think that he's posted his cell phone number here on a previous thread - I'd give it again, but I can't find it. If you can't get ahold of him , and you think you might get lost (which is quite possible if you're new to Korea...) you could PM me , and I'll give my cell phone # ...

Ah, right. If anybody really gets lost, call me at 010 7711 0218.

And, I'll be in the station to meet people at the top of the stairs from the platform. So don't head outside if you don't see me!

Just enough money to cover your lunch - which I don't expect to be that much at a Korean tofu restaurant (I'll vote for a more expensive place next time that's more in line with my extravagant lifestyle... Smile )
