This seems to be the proper forum so I'll start a new thread here.

Last month, I rented DGBD and DJed reggae, rocksteady, and ska, and my co-host played northern soul. It was such a success we're doing it again.

It opens at 11:00 and there might be something different happening in the club earlier. Beer is 2000 won until midnight, and 3000 after. We're going to take turns DJing until some time early in the morning. All profits go toward the Slackers tour in March.

Here are some sample songs that were played at the last one:

Winston Shand - Matilda

Slackers+Chris Murray - Janie Jones (Clash cover)

Shirley Scott - Goose Pimples

not to sound repetitive or anything, but...
you should definitely hit this party.
there were hijinks galore.
loads of dancing by people who are usually non-dancers.
a large number of pretty women.
not just a bunch of whiteys.
fanfreakintastic music.
you should go.

I'd be keen to go but I'm wondering of you can offer more details about how to get there. The map was kind of limiting. Any major shops nearby of something like that?
(I don't live in Seoul but will be heading up for the weekend = reason for needing good guide)

Hey what's up fellow Smurfette!!
I'm definitely there. I wouldn't miss a rare opportunity for some Reggae in this country. Hopefully it'll help me out with my withdrawl.....from the music that is....
But I do agree, the directions are a little tough for me. How would I get there in a cab from one of the stations?

you don't need to take a cab. walk up from honggik station. when you get to the starbucks turn left up the big wide street with all the markets on it. when you get to the white "luxury" noraebang, and the buy the way, you turn right.

dgdb is down a little hill, across the street and to the left. it's got a blue sign.

The easiest way to get there might be to print off a copy of the map and bring that with you.

From Hongdae Station, the best landmark to look for is Bobo Hotel. From there it's just up the street and you'll see it on the right. If you're really having trouble, just send me a private message and I can find a way to get you there.

Here's another map that might be better for you if you can read Korean.

This is TONIGHT people!! If you don't have plans, make a plan and go to this! Even if it's not strictly your cup-of-tea, get out and try something different. I am hoping to attend, just depends on the missis at the moment.... didn't do myself any favours by getting drunk as a skunk last night though Sad
