Wasn't Heat the movie with that really embarrassing 'my dad is bigger then your dad' type scene where Al and Rob are talking in a cafe . That was pretty bad. Might be a different movie tho.
edit: just watched the scene on you tube, not as bad as i remembered it. |

| Mack just lost me. He's been quite amusing the last few months, but MIAMI VICE!! Worst movie I've seen in memory . Complete, 100%, grade A crap. I actually fell asleep for about an hour of it. |

Also, Gong Li looked like crap in it!
Hello, a little make up and some hair treatment!
She could've been smoking hot! But no!!!!!!!!
It was a total sham without Edward James Olmos!
There were so many references to "taking loads" that I thought it was just really bad porn dialog! |

| Me and my friends would always watch that one scene in "Heat" when Al Pacino is questioning that guy at the police station where he says "she has a great azz...and you got your head..all the way up it!!!" Watch Al Pacino's face during that scene.....friggen nutz!!!! |

Speaking of action, Grindhouse looks like it will be full of nothing but action.
An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In "Death Proof," a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In "Planet Terror," a small-town sheriffs' department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called "sickos." A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army. The two films will be fused together by fake movie trailers.

Apparently Jamie Foxx badgered Michael Mann during the filming of 'Ali' so that he'd make the damn thing. So you can blame him.
I didn't mind it--I thought Gong Li looked like a superfine cougar, but Colin Farrell... I just don't get it. He's a good-looking guy, but he's got the acting chops of a young Dolph Lundgren.
Hell, even "Men Of War" was better than "The Recruit".
Just about the only thing I liked about the film was the atmosphere--nobody creates a mood better than Michael Mann. |

Then you're not MALE.
You didn't enjoy the fine-ass nekked female in the shower? You didn't enjoy the MASSIVE shoot-out with people getting double tapped to the HEAD and the whole SHOTGUN-TO-THE-BACK-OF-THE-SKULL thing? The slick vehicles? The shades?
What's there to complain about? All the ingredients necessary for a good movie, I JUST NAMED. |

Actually, I thought his choice to shoot the final shoot-out scene with a handi-cam was cool for about 10 seconds; then it just got tired. Plus, it was so chaotic, just a lot of shooting, but not that compelling. The guy getting blasted inside the car was cool, though.
The best thing I could say about the movie was the boat. Taking a little jaunt from Miami to Havana for a Mojito (sic), not a bad way to spend a day. |

| I can't believe anyone can call Heat "boring" but in the same post claim Miami Vice a great... WTF? There were like three shootouts in the whole movie. There rest was total snoozeville. I think the real reason mack enjoyed the movie is because it allowed him to check out both Fox and Farrell's junk. What's up with all the shower scenes? There was more filler in this film than a McDonalds beef patty. And grandma Li getting in on with Farrell was more than a little embarrassing, I must say. Your movie reviews suck, dude. Predator 2 skins alive this glossy motorvehicle magazine of a movie. |

Yeah, I liked it better the first time I saw it, back in '90.

All you sissy-boy wasters are missing the point(s):
(A) Vehicles (a fantastic assortment)
(B) Guns (a fantastic assortment)
(C) Ass (admittedly, not a fantastic assortment, but if you've seen a nicer heinder on the screen than Jamie Foxx's girlfriend, let me know where please)
And that's it. Those are the KEY ingredients of any good film. If you disagree, I know a cabaret show in Busan that's hiring.
Oh, and Predator 2 licked stale monkey chode. |

Besides being set in Miami..what did the movie have to do with the series.
Two thoughts I had watching the god-awful movie...why did they call it Miami Vice...it is just a cop movie with no real ties to the series behind the character names...
and...why don't I just turn this off and do something more constructive...anything would have been better than watching waste of screen space....
now...CRANK...there was an action movie... |

While MV was terribly boring due to the lack of action, it's the action itself that was terribly boring in Crank. I gave up half way through, it made me so sleepy. |

You poor saps. Did you actually watch it for the story or character development?

mack the knife, four years ago you sounded like a 22 year old stuck in a teenage boy mentality. Fine. Stage of life and all. Fun flashback to hear.
Now you must be at least 26. If you're a day over thirty, take a look at how silly it sounds for someone that age talking about what kind of movies a guy needs to watch to be manly. Only those breaching adulthood are at all swayed by such tactics.
Seriously. |
