my recruiter says he will be there to escort me at the airport,

what experiences can you share about arriving in Incheon and riding the Airport limousine? I'm supposed to be at DaeJeon...

Airport limo is a nice bus. You buy the ticket at the bus counter in the airport. They will give you the info you need. Once you get to Daejeon, call the school to pick you up.

Hopefully, the recruiter will take you to the school. This is where you'll find out if your picture you sent them, actually looks like you do now. Or, he may just hold up a sign with your name on it.

I was met at the airport both times I arrived. The second time, the guy was a bit late and I was in the process of buying a bus ticket. Fortunately, he recognized me (blondish hair helped). Took me not too far from Daejeon to my new home and introduced me to several of the foreign teachers who had stayed up past three a.m. to meet me.

After you go through customs, the recruiter will probably be waiting. If not, just take a few moments to take in the surroundings within the terminal. The airport is the least Korean thing you will experience for a while (if there is such a thing as "least Korean").

Be sure to carry the recruiters phone number with you. You can also ring him if you don't connect immediately.

I would not use the term �picked up� at the airport. My recruiter had someone waiting at the airport with a sign with my name on it. This person directed me to where to buy the correct bus ticket, and pointed me to the right bus to get on. I have traveled all over Asia for a few years, so I really think I could have managed it myself. However, I am not complaining, it was a nice service.

I expect to be picked up in a Benz and driven to the door of my new apartment before being taken to meet my new boss.

I haven't used a bus for years.

I arrived in the evening and was not picked up. I was never treated that bad by the Chinese schools or universities when I worked there.

I called the lady at PARK ENGLISH. All she did was apologise. I had to wait 4 hours for some typical uneducated drive to arrive at the airport.
I called PARK ENGLISH several times complaining. I have no &$%^ idea why the .... did not come to the airport herself and get me.

Useless incompetent people. Useless organizations.

I guess they just take the Korean school's money and could care less after that...

However, when I did arrive at my school's apartment, the School's Woman director came quickly, bless her. She was rather confused about the delay herself. I got in good with the School's director by blaming the whole mess on Park English.

Then there was the mess with Park English and my diplomas...

I had a wonderful experience with my recruiter. I was extremely disoriented walking out of customs, due to extreme lack of sleep. My recruiter recognized me immediately, ran over and grabbed my luggage, then bought me a cup of coffee. He also helped me exchange my money at the airport. Then he drove me to the bus station in his car, bought me my bus ticket, and made sure I was on the correct bus. (I had a four hour bus ride ahead of me to get to my town). He told me that my employer would pick me up at the bus terminal, and gave me his number. I couldn't have asked for a nicer guy.

In 2004, no one picked me up. They cared too much about getting ready for the next day's "Meet the parents of prospective students day". They couldn't even be bothered with picking me up at the bus terminal. I had to go all the way to the school by myself, having never been to the school or that area of Korea before. This time, I came over with no job waiting for me, so again, I did it all by myself. And for a princess, that is so un-princessy. Very Happy

Nobody. I had to go through to my checked luggage and find my recruiters number. Kudos to the Incheon Airport's Information desk. They called my recruiter who gave them the address of the recruiting company in Seoul. They worte the adress down in Korean. I paid 70,000 won for a taxi. My director reimbursed it a week after I had started working at his hogwan.

Wasn't a big deal though. I was instructed about the limo busses, and to take the direct bus to the Jamsil Lotte World Hotel. There were no other stops so it was really easy to navigate. My boss met me in the hotel lobby. Really wasn't that big a deal to me, and it was really easy to manage.

I didn't know I should have expected someone to meet me there, so I did just fine.

Recruiter picked us up at the airport and drove us the hour to our new school. On time, helpful. No problems there.

With all of the bad stories about recruiters out there, the people here seem to be luck.

I have some Korean friends who have a recruiting agency and they make it a standard thing to meet people at the airport and drive them right to the school or their apartment.

Things are improving out there.
