i like the term "oldster" myself. it's non-gender specific which is nice.
i'm 32, definitely not an oldster, but i have many good friends who definitely are oldsters, 60+. i've always had a good age spread in my friendships, i don't actually do well with people my own age, my friends tend to be much younger than me, or much older. one of my high school teachers became a really good friend, he's well over 60 now, and we're still in touch.
rss Cool

Oh man, I love oldster. That is awesome. Sorry, Mon Contrar!

I tend to favor "Distinguished Gentleman," and I've occasionally been tagged with "Elder Statesman."

codger being left off the choices poisons the poll.

Yes, my apologies. I had two senior moments while typing up the choices: I left the 'e' out of 'fogey' and left 'codger' off the list of choices. What can I say? I think I'll crawl off into a corner and drool till the Grim Reaper comes.

My mom has her dad's cane stored away. I'm half-way looking forward to the time I can use it to whack disrespectful younguns upside the head.

Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are

Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper

Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man grows older every day
It gives the world
Its saddest sound...

A fortress deep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need for friendship
Friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain.

I am an island

SuperFly,

Thanks for the Simon and Garfunkel blast from the past.

One question: Is your favorite movie "OLD Yeller" ?

Damn Ya-Ta...

I try to make you feel better, and you made me cry. Again. Really. I haven't thought about that movie in years.

To answer the question. NO. My favorite movie is Where the Red Fern Grows ---> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072402/
