Ok,
Very soon I will travel to Perth, Western Australia.
I am very excited and curious if anyone else has lived and/or traveled there.
What is it like ????
Is there a friendly vibe there or what ???
And what do you recommend doing besides the beach thing ???
Cheers, Mates |

| I've stopped through Perth. Nice city in the middle of nowhere. Fremantle is very cool. |

| If you have the funds/time you could rent a car and drive down the south coast from Perth to the Margaret River wine area and along the rugged coastline to Albany. We rented a cheap car and spent a few days down there. Otherwise, Fremantle and Rottness Island (where you can hire bikes) are cool, as are Perth's beaches. Have a good trip. |

| Wa wa weewah! Perth huh? If you go north, tour along the north west coast highway and be sure to stop at either Geraldton, Kalbarri, Monkey Mia or Exmouth (If you like to fish, pack some bait. Some of the tastiest fish hang off the North West coast). If you head south, you can head down to Fremantle (seaport), Margaret River or Albany. Some word of advice, don't travel into the desert during this time of the year due to summer (unless you like 40-50 degree heat). Other than that, enjoy the trip down under in probably the most isolated city in the world! Peace! |

I'm from Perth and I agree with what everyone has said.
If I could add one more place it would be Mandurah. You can stop over there on your way to Margret River or Bunbury. Albany is definitely worth the visit.
I have some pictures of Perth on my site if you're interested. |
