I was once given roasted baby potatoes with melted cheese, chocolate sauce, and crushed toasted peanuts on top. My private's wife would always feed us and she thought I liked western food so that was her idea of a really special treat.

I ate it all up and swore up down and sideways that it was delicious, 'cause I loved that family so much...I just couldn't let her know that what she had done was a hideous abomination.

God, I almost weep just thinking about it. I mean, it wasn't THAT bad, but there's something wretchedly poignant about people trying really hard to do something nice for you, and failing utterly.

Hmmm...now that I think about it, maybe I can somehow incorporate this into my Hideous Revenge Quest...

In our school cafeteria, I'll eat most of the stuff they serve except for:

some kind of clear broth with what look like baby penises (sp?) at the bottom. Perhaps they're sea squirts, but they look like little pink baby .....you know what I mean !

Plus, they are hard and rubbery ... and no taste !!!

Whats the point of eating something with no taste and its rubbery ???

ps. No yucky comments about my post, ok !

Yep, I know those *beep* things. I never would dare try them, but I love to watch them. They are in the tanks some times in front of fish resturants. They circle and dance 'round and 'round. I like taking pictures of them. They are so funny to watch

I do not know how to put pictures on here, but if I did I would post one.

Last time I saw them I must have been starting at them for 15 minutes, when some man came out told me to come in and eat, I said "no thanks". He said to me, "You marry?" I said "no'. He said, "You boyfriend?" I said "no". He said "Korea man eat and he very strong. You know?" I said "Yes I know. Goodby".

So you guys out there, if you want to be strong like Korean men......

Quinella: Next time you order toast ask them to use the pizza/tomato sauce instead of regular. It isn't sweet and goes really well with a ham and cheese. A HUGE improvement over the green sweet kiwi crap. (Never had thousand island at a toast joint.. must be a big city innovation that hasn't reached the provinces yet..)

SweetPete: Next time you cook for your privates in-laws make pat-bin-su but use kimchi instead of fruit. I suspect they will be less graceful than you though.

Joes Sandwich in Seocho Dong has got "Jam & Cheese" sandwiches on the menu. Realising what a stupid combination that was and how nobody in their right mind would ever eat such a thing i assumed it was a typo and was really a Ham & Cheese. I was wrong.

I also took the plunge one day and ordered their egg sandwich.
I was not expecting it also to come with jam....i mean why advertise jam with the cheese but not the egg???

I couldn't eat the cheese and jam sandwich but i am ashamed to say that i ate the egg mayo and jam sandwich...it was oddly nice!!
