Legislation?
This whole line of thinking is backwards.
Examine trends already happening and consider whether to support it or not.
Like quotation marks. They are simply not being used at times, even in published books by reputable authors.
And the semi-colon is going the way of the dodo.
Leave a purely academic, way premature discussion of the letter 'i' for the trend setters and those who actually decide to get the ball rolling by doing it. |

In German all nouns are capitalized. pronouns are not. so "He knows that I am a teacher." is "Er weiss dass ich bin Lehrer." ich=I and Lehrer=teacher.
for any German majors out there... i cant remember, does dass make the phraze transverted word order? or was I right?
I use to dash my 7s and Zs but stopped when Koreans had no clue what on Earth I was writing. how does that work? when they write their backwards 9 and their 6 is a circle with a vertical line over it, i understand, but they cant get a slashed 7 or Z? I stopped my 4 written closed on the top because they didnt get that too, they thought it was a funny nine. bastrads...
and dont even think about stealing words from German, unless you want seven ways of saying "the" and seven ways of saying "a" and two ways of saying "me" not a good idea... |

Drats. Foiled again. I thought it was all Die Die Die! (Or whatever, the closest to German I know is children's Swedish.)

I is capitalized because we each know how indispensible we are to the correct functioning of the universe. We are each a proper noun, and we give the capital to I because we don't want to have to talk about ourselves in the third person.
We all know that, however, you are probably not indispensible to the working of the universe. Neither is he, she, it, they, or, when I must include you in my statement, we.
It's one part egocentricism and one part aesthetics. If the personal pronoun for you were spelled u, we'd probably capitalize that, too. |

i reserve the right to change my mind on any issue depending on which way the prevailing wind is blowing. With this in mind, since the majority have voted yes i also think it should be capitalised!

i believe it should be.
"I" = a reflection of a TOTALLY puffed up "ME" ( i.e. EGO mentality )
i'm careful now to explain this to all the kiddies.
Who knows, maye someday this might actually come to a more officially recognized fruition. Then again, perhaps it's better that it doesn't. |
