I'm trying to access my university's library from home in order to access their electronic journal collection. When I clicked on the appropriate link in the library's website, I downloaded a PowerPoint file called 'Proxy manual' which I assume contains the instructions for me to do what I want. However, when I open the file, it is all garbage characters. I'm working from a Mac and I suspect that the Korean fonts I have available on my computer don't match the one used in the file. I suspect that using a Mac is part of the problem because I've already discovered that I can only get this far using IE; no other browsers will work. If I can just decode this PowerPoint file, I think I can work things out, though. Any ideas?

If you are using a Mac why not going into a windows emulator and do it there. Korean internet is not exactly friendly to non-IE browsers.

either that or I would recommend going to school printing the file from a pc and then try again from home. Sorry I can't help more than that.

Setup your language options for Office to auto recognise Korean encoded files.
