In my infinite wisdom I forgot to pack my peak flow meter. After recieving a bollocksing from my doc back home about not adhering to my asthma management plan I need to find a peak flow meter.

Does anyone know where I could find one in is this country. I've tried a few drug stores and they look at me like I'm a crazy women when I pull out pictures of the peak flow meter.

All stuff like ventolin is stock here in the drugstores but you need a perscrition from a doctor. Go to any hospital to out patients and see a doctor. Don't under any circomstances go through casuality or you will be charged the Earth. In general stay away from University hospitals as they tend to rip you off. Catholic hospitals are the best here and they generally have someone on call for English translation

As Anda said, they are available here and are called Ventolin(just break it down into Konglish). Ben-Tah-Lehn. Go to any quack doctor, just say that, get the prescription, off to the pharmacy and 8 000 won later bingo.

If you will PM me, I will give you the name and number of my doc in Seoul and maybe he can tell you where. He is the best doctor I have ever been to and is about the only one I trust. Too bad I moved away and can't see him anymore. He totally got my asthma under control (allergies too).

No that's not right.
A peak flow meter is one of those things that you blow into and it tells you what your lung capacity is. I guess it's a clinical way to tell if your asthma's getting worse. My asthma's always been kind of bad but I'd only ever use the peak flow meter when I went to a doctor.
Do you really need it...?
You could get someone to mail it or check out one of those online pharmacies. I bet they stock them.

I wish you lot could read. "All stuff like ventolin is stock here in the drugstores" That means Ashma Inhlers. Ventolin is only one of many inhalers on the market for Ashma.

Any medical clinic even including public school clinics have a blow in piece of equipment to measure a persons breathing strength. So that means that a medical supply house here should be able to sell these simple units to any one who wants one.

If you approach a tourist infomation centre in Seoul or other big city here they should be able to look up a supplier. But first go to an outpatients at a hospital and find out that they call the thing here.

And yes I've had to breathe into them a number of times here for medical tests.

I'm not on ventolin as I find that it doesn't pack the punch I need. I'm on pulmicort, and eformoterol furnarate daily and bricanyl as required.

The reason I got told to monitor my peak flow is that I should be changing my dose level as I hit a certain level.

I'm going to get my mom to send me one.
