Hey All,

My collegue in my office wants to get a new laptop. She is selling this awsome Sony Laptop.

Now, before I begin, I dont give a hoot what the local 'experts' think. What I am putting here are the facts and if you dont like it then troll somewhere else, okay?

Here is a link to the laptop:

http://www.learningcenter.sony.us/assets/itpd/notebooks/tx_series/
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_BrowseCatalog-Start?CategoryName=cpu_VAIONotebookComputers_TXSeries&Dept=computers

This laptop was bought about a year ago. Below are the specs:

Sony TX-VGNTX17LP/B
11.1" screen
1.5 GB RAM
1.2Ghz Solo CPU (Check the links to understand better)
60GB drive
DVD Burner

1.

2.

3.

Extra Powersupply and docking station (port replicator for the rest of you)

In summary, this is an awsome laptop for someone who really wants a light, small laptop that will give long battery life. It's (in my opinion) ideally suited for a woman who just wants to drop it in her handbag and go and is not going to play games. But I am sure some men will also like it for its size.

This was bought at the price of over W3,000,000 a year ago (incl upgrades), and I am offering it for W1,500,000. Not negotiable.

If you dont believe my price then look at danawa's price for a basic system.

Cheers and thanks for your time.

Giant

Your price seems fair but that's a big bunch of money for a used laptop. Hard to bite at that price...hence the bumps...

I'm seeing red lights. I'm worried that something is wrong with it...no warranty to back it up...and expensive repairs from sony. That's a really expensive brick if something is up.

I'd like to know why she wants to upgrade? It's still very current.

Yes, its still very current. There is NO, I repeat NO problems with it. She just wants to switch to a slightly better model.

Look, yes it is a large ammount of money, but if you add in all the extras its an excelent deal. Even without all the extras its an excellent deal. Actually she is losing on the deal big time. But she wants a change so she does not mind taking a hit.

There are no red lights in my opinion, I know that to part with that kind of money for anything is hard, so hence your 'bumps'.

To me, its a 'once in a lifetime offer'.

Also, I am not a teacher, I am a IT professional, I used to teach but got a local IT job. You can come and look at in my office if you like.

Cheers

Yeah, just too much for me, too.

Take another look on Danawa. See what you can get for 1.5mill...A nice IBM/HP/Samsung (or other..) core2duo (T5600), 120gig, 1-2G Ram, nice gaming card, WARRANTY...

Sorry friend, but checking the alternatives...I think you're asking too much.

Cheers.

Yes, I KNOW that. This system is not for everyone! I already hinted to that... This laptop is in a different class than a gaming system. I would never pedal it for gaming.

You will not find anyting in this class as good for the same money.

Seriously though people, Giant is probably the most respected voice on the tech. forum. He is not one to bullsh!t with you; he tells you how it is and that's that. If Giant says the laptop is good to go, there is no reason for you to think otherwise. Likewise, if he tells you the price is good, then most likely it is (even when he LINKS AND SHOWS PICTURES) of the current asking price for a new one.

Giant,

nice laptop!

If you could read, you will see this is not an outdated laptop. My price even without the extras is good. But its being sold with upgrades and a docking station.

Listen, respectfully, you do not know what you are talking about. So go troll elsewhere.

And I am not getting anything out of the deal, you can deal directly with her if interested.

IF its a year old its out dated! Once you leave the store any electronic product drops 1/5 of the price and after a year is it worth 1/3 max especially when there are no garantees.
Thanks Commish! Wink
not really that interested!
