| Paldal-gu descibes a rather large geographic area of Suwon. Can you get any more specific? I know a bit about Youngtong ECY. About a month ago I attended the farewell parties of several of their foreign teachers. I asked them if they could honestly recommend the school for teachers wanting to come over to Korea (this was before I got bitter, jaded and headed for the nearest airport). They unanimously said 'no'. Their reasons included contracts not being honoured (the franchise changed hands supposedly so original contracts were tossed), unreasonable work requests made outside of regularly scheduled hours, low wages and bonuses not being paid. That's as specific as I can get. The academic director is a self-described Christian woman, so that might agree with some teachers, but beware of church guilt trip that comes with it in her case!! |
