Check your local YMCA, they provide a domestic and childcare outservice.

Definitely depends on who it is, how old they are, what you want them to do with your kids, and how much you're willing to pay.

I was a temp nanny back in the states. I have no idea what the going rate is here.

are you looking for someone five days a week, or just while you go out for the evening?

I don't know about the hourly rate, but I hear it's 2.0 to 2.3 million for a native English speaker to do it per month.

I'm actually asking from the other side, my girlfriend might be able to get work babysitting and I was wondering the going rate. She was offered 10,000 an hour, but my Korean mate from work said he's paid 20 to 25,000 an hour, so I'm a bit confused. It's basically everyday for 4 hours a day and I think the kid is one year old.

Koreans don't have the prevalent babysitting culture as we do in the west. H.S. kids studying, too many Grandmas and Aunts around to do it for free, etc.

Noribangs, (playrooms) are where Koreans put their kids during the day. 8-12 M-F is around 180,000 per month, so I've heard.

That's too much. YWCA charges 5,000 an hour.

The going rate for a part-time babysitter is 10,000 Won, you should be able to negotiate for 4 hours a day a little less.

10,000 sounds very reasonable. I was paid 11 dollars an hour back home. I'd like to work for whoever is paying 20 or 25k. I'll teach them English at the same time!

Keep in mind that a babysitter in your home is MUCH different than dropping your kid off at a huge center, which is why it costs more.

Yeah, true. Just found out that that 20k figure quoted was infact that, a childcare centre.
