|
|
From (AP):
| Quote: |
...Fonda was a lightning rod in the Vietnam era for her outspoken opposition to that war and her advocacy from Hanoi at the height of that conflict. Sensitive to the old wounds, she made it a point to thank the active-duty service-members, veterans and Gold Star mothers who attended the rally.
She drew parallels to the Vietnam War, citing "blindness to realities on the ground, hubris ... thoughtlessness in our approach to rebuilding a country we've destroyed." But she noted that this time, veterans, soldiers and their families increasingly and vocally are against the Iraq war. |
Yes, Hanoi Jane is more "sensitive" to our troops this time around. I guess this means she doesn't consider them baby killers, only destroyers of a nation. Well, gee Jane, you've come a long way, baby.
Now let's see Ms. Fonda: our forces have done more to destroy Iraq than Saddam (who grossly neglected his own populace and infrastructure) or the insurgency, or the al-Sadr death squads. More destructive, I suppose than al-Qaeda, which foments unrest on both sides.
Yes, our military families must feel reassured knowing that Jane the Pain Fonda is now speaking out on their behalf. And to be joined by Susan Sarandon, my goodness. Now if Vanessa Redgrave would have been at the protest, the triumverate would have been complete. But Sean Penn is a good stand-in. Or is it Tim Robbins. With LeftCoast Hollywood on it's side it's only a matter of time before Bush gets impeached, right?
I can already hear the big bird flapping her wings.... |

Good luck. The Socialist Broadcasting System of Canada had to be taken to court by Fox to get it on the air.

Alan Colmes needs some help with his radio show before it goes into freefall. Go for it, man. No, wait, Alan's a nice enough guy. Better help Al Franken instead 'cause we know he can't act. |

And McGarette (yes, spelt correctly), when will you post something of substance and also post something which might back up your opinion or further illustrate your stracato allusions??????
Is your record broken. All you offer is disparaging leftist/Marxist comments that sound like something from a 50s hearing committee.
Say what is wrong about what she says and avoid the other comments which only refer to stupid, unthinking patriotism. Or are you just the unthinking, patriotic type??? All for the nation, even my own stupidity?
If you want us to have any respect for your opinions, back them up and don't disparage with useless comments or bias or leftist garbage. A scholar deals with truth, not opinion and emotional fetchinsm.....
I'm all for more voices of dissent, Hanoi Jane, Beijing Betty or Tehran Tara. Even Washington Wendy. It is all about the debate, not categorizing. Dissent, dirt, is the very essence of life. May I remind you, a pot unstirred, spoils. Your pot though, is rather empty and rancid.

Hanoi's actually a relatively pleasant place these days. I'd go back. |

Maybe she just likes to back winners...
Anyway, here's a YouTube of a Colbert Report that not only features Jane Fonda (who kisses the host repeatedly...) but you get the added bonus of feminist icon Gloria Steinem...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRs9R0x4e5Y |
