I still use Soulseek. It's very good for getting those hard-to-find files from lesser known groups and EPs. It's rare that I cannot find something I'm looking for on there.

The connection speeds vary. Sometimes I get lucky and someone can connect to me with about a 1 mbps speed and I get a whole album in less than a minute. Other times it takes an average of about 20-30 minutes for an album.

One great feature I like is being able to search someone's files. If you find that person with the 1mbps connection, you can browse what files they have to offer and go to town.

About Kazaa: used it back in the day, but now the word is synonymous with spyware in my mind. I have never visited any kazaa-related page with this hard drive, and yet I get kazaa spyware on my computer nearly every day. F kazaa.

Believe it or not, I met a girl who was a member of their Japanese fanclub. I think I'd have a minor stroke if I ever met a Korean who'd even heard of them.

Da-da-da-dant! Da-da-da-dah!

That saxamaphone riff will be in my head till the die I shuffle off. Great tune from those heady days when dressing like ragamuffin gypsies was all the rage.

Here's one from the same time and place. More friggin' gypsies!!!

I'll let you guess the relevance of this one:

Back in '68 in a sweaty club
Oh, Geno
Before Jimmy's Machine and The Rocksteady Rub
Oh-oh-oh Geno-o

Thanks for that Geno Washington clip. What an extraordinary singer!! I'd actually never seen what he looked like. Just heard him and knew the connection with Dexy's.

I like limewire pro

Its much faster than the free limewire version

(You can download and install the pro version from bittorrent sites)

It's (limewire) is good for finding single songs or tv episodes not available on torrent sites

Ditto on Limewire. I like bit torrents, but just like buying the full CD, I tend to like only two or three songs on the CD and end up hating the rest of the songs. Limewire is good for single song downloads.

I get my music from Soulseek and my TV/movies from Bitlord (courtesy of a variety of sites).
