Well, nobody could have prepared me for my first night here! Went out, tried the drink called SOJU, I don't know why but I was not thinking it would get me so messed up, drank some, drank some more, one shot, next thing I knew the room was spinning, I was sick, and some Korean girl was hitting me on the back saying 'Wake Up!' Next thing I knew I was lost, forgot where I lived, got into a taxi, finally managed to find my place, so far everything is cool! OH, by the way, my name is Todd, if you are into movie writing, that is my hobby!

Dear Mr. Swift,

We are interested in your movie prospectus. Please submit the first two scenes in full form, with dialog and stage directions.

Sincerely,

S. Spielburg

Ah!! "First soju experience"!! All I have to say is HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I know VERY few people here who HAVEN'T had a similar experience. My son took QUITE a bit of soju back to the States with him and introduced his friends to the "soju experience". Some of them are still talking to him!! Laughing

Razz I must say, the soju, and all those signs all lit up with Korean, and the smells of the cooking food, they sure created something that was like the scene in Tenacious D when that guy found the mushrooms!

Hey, you have a son, how old are you, not to be rude, but I think it is great you are teaching here. My mom would not step out of the country!
You sound like a cool mom!

My American friends have dubbed it "Korean death water" and now all my Korean friends use that term too.

It's funny because you really can drink a ton of that stuff before it will hit you. Try topping it off with a beer to really add some fun to it.

Oh of course, everyone who has never been to Korea knows what poktanju is. How ignorant am I?
