i think the movie sucks, but the eye candy is great. imo, it's laughably ironic what's happened to phi phi since that movie was released.

The Chinese Box, starring Jeremy Irons. He's in Hong Kong, a newspaper writer/phographer/sort of freelancer, living in a small apartment (his buddy lives with him for a bit, thrown out of his apt/out of a job, sad story, they drink...). He has a crush on a sort of 'rich man's trophy wife', who has the hots for him. Finally, they do it. He has his big pants! He leaves her to.....

I was thinking of Return to Paradise where Vince Vaughn has to go back and get a pal out of a Malaysian prison. Set mostly in NY though...

Hot off the press is The Painted Veil set and filmed in China and a lot of films go into Shanghai glory years,,

Aside from war flivcks (or prison ones) really it's funny there aren't a lot more----wasn't there a movie called Ex-pat about waygook in Korea? Must have been a total bomb...

The Spanish Apartment and The Dreamers are both pretty decent, and involve a lot of screwing.
