| Please tell me if there are specific degree requirements to work at a public school in or around Seoul. I have a B.A. plus TEFL certificate. I was informed that they only accept 100 hour TEFL degrees. Really confused. |

| Your BA qualifies you to work as a level 3 (entry-level) teacher. A TEFL cert kicks you up a notch to level 2 for an extra 200,000 won/mo but as far as I know they wont budge on the minimum 100-hr stipulation. |

I think it depends on the requirements of each individual school or recruiting agency. My school pays incremental salaries depending on qualifications and experience. So it may be you can get into a public school on a reduced wage - say 2/2.1 million won per month. The best thing to do is to apply online (send resume, photo, scan of degree TEFL etc) to various (as many as you like) schools and get feedback from them. This is what I did anyway but there will be people out there who are better informed about this than me.
good luck applying |
