mY mother and I have fallen out too.

When she visited me in Seoul shortly before Xmas, we had an argument and she ended up going home earlier than planned (she'd worked in New Zealand for a year and was on her way back to England - one week Seoul stopover with me).

She stormed out and I thought she'd get a hotel in Itaewon or something and we'd make friends and move on, but an email said she'd got an early plane and was already back home. Shocked

We'll make friends eventually, but for now we're not speaking. And in doing so, my ability to communicate with fellow Westerners has reached absolute rock bottom.

yeah, parents... when i moved out of my parents house, it wasn't by choice, it was b/c my mom kicked me out. she had already stopped speaking to me for about 2 months. when the moving truck came a week later, she only then broke her silence by laughing and singing songs.
LOVE YA, MOMMA! Razz

No need for you to worry. I met a 33 year old gal on Sunday who works at one of the restaurants inside the Interconti Hotel, and she said customers ask her why she is not married and they ask her if she has some kind of mental problem. Jerks!!!

God. Those people suck. My grandparents just want me to be happy I think. And for me to produce grandchildren for them. That's not happening. Sorry 할머니.
If I was her I wouldn't take someone calling me crazy for not wanting to get married. I'd make sure they never forget it's none of their business. I'd lose my job. But I would feel vindicated.

Me too, with my temper, I'd end up losing that job. I may just pour water on someone's head or throw a drink in their face! I have done that twice in Korea anyways, and I was not even working there. hahaha!!! You can usually find another job waiting tables.

May be that's why you are a teacher, and she is in the service industry.

What gets me is my mom gets crazy excited when I am going to visit, but then can't help reverting to "mommy". The last time she told me, in all seriousness, to make sure I put the toilet seat down, as I had apparently not done so on the third or fourth day. This was on a ONE week vacation. I mean, if you have regular guests to your house, are you going to tell them to remember to put the seat down? Of course, I made sure not to for the duration of the visit Twisted Evil
