Hi,

Just wondering if anyone uses travellers checks/cheques when sending money to a UK bank account? If so, can I get the cheque made out in pounds or will it be in Won or US$?

I couldn't find this question posted after searching...

Thanks for the help,

Why not get a money order or cashiers check. You can choose the currency (EUROS, GBP, US$, CAD, AUD, etc) and there is no problem when you deposit them.

Alternatively you can do a bank to bank wire transfer but the cost is substancially more (25quid) instead of 5000 won for a money order.

Either choice can be done at the foreign exchange desk of your favorite bank.
