Can anyone help. I am being considered for an ESL job in Busan. I can take a salary (with benefits) or hourly which is quite high.

Before I do, however, I am wondering if anyone can advise as to rents for a bit more upscale one bedroom flat in Busan. With this information I can then properly determine if the hourly wage will make economic sense.

Also has anyone purchased private health insurance in case of need for surgery or accidental injury? What are the costs and do these policies cover most health issues (i.e. doctor visits, hospitalization, surgeries, Rx etc.......)

Finally are the summer and winter temperatures moderated because of the coastal location.

Many thanks to all who might take their time to help a fellow wonderer. Very Happy

Planning on getting burned at CDI huh??

National health insurance (with a 50% co-pay - you pay 1/2 it pays 1/2) will run you 100k per month.

Housing will set you back 5 million for your deposit (key money) and up to 500k per month for a studio. One bedroom will cost up to 10 million key money and 500k per month for rent + management / utility fees.

So you are suggesting that employer housing is a better option?

Also is CDI a bad employer? Please give me more details.

Thank you

Do a search or just scroll back over the last month or so...

There is more than enough to read about CDI.
