you know, as a Christian, i think it's pretty ridiculous what they feed these kids in terms of propaganda.
but, I do have to say that at least they aren't asking them to strap on bombs and blow them off in marketplaces, or board jetliners and make them crash into skyscrapers.
you know. |

The camp leader says, and I quote, "I want our kids to be willing to lay down their lives for the gospel just like the kids in the Middle East." (11:08 - 11:24)

Children have a very difficult time differentiating between metaphorical war and real war.

I watched it a few days ago.
All that glassy-eyed, feverish, no-doubt-in-our-mind, fundamentalism scares the bayjesus out of me.
I think we will soon have a problem with christian suicide bombers. They really want to bring about the prophecies in the the Book of Revelations. Who knows what they'll do to achieve that. |

I don't know 'bout y'all, but ablah gla bimlach mahhallah! OOOO-giii-bOOOO-gii! LI-ki-LI-ki-LI-kichimorunadoB!
Amen.
Man, indeed, is God's greatest creation. Nor did he come from some protoplasmic ejaculate, but was created in his mother's womb by, by, by, uh, pixie sticks and tin-foil!
Now, let's bow our heads and vote.
(I don't know about you, but I have never seen a stronger case for our relationship to the apes.) |

George Bush being an example of a model Christian. Hahaha....I laughed out loud at that one. Over my dead Iraqi civilian friend's body. |

She shouldn't have related Christian martyr's to Islam martyr's without giving an explanation. Oh yeah... she did. So why didn't you include it?
She was trying to relate the willingness of Islam extremists and their desire to die for their goals to what Christian desires should be. She wasn't condoning the action of Islam extremists and how they strap bombs on to kill others, but rather exemplifying their their willingness to die for their ideology. Whereas Christians should follow the nature of Christ and die to our own pursuits and live to the example of Christ. Not to kill others, but to lay down our lives if others want to take them. Quite the opposite, wouldn't you agree?
Our war is not with flesh and blood, but with spiritual weapons....prayer. Look at the lives of all the disciples and see how they all died. They all died by the Romans and the empire by being hung, boiled or eaten alive.

Hold on, hold on - there won't be any bomb-strapping going on with these kids. Here's why:
Islamic terrorism manifests as it does because its exponents do not have access to legitimate political and military power sufficient for the pursuit of their objectives. This is not at all the case for Christian fundamentalism, however.

I don't like that particular brand of Christianity. On the other hand the idea od a "gentle Jesus, meek and mild" is a myth. He himself said: "I come not to bring peace but the sword." |

I watched about half, up until the part where they are walking up and down the aisles of the audorium, praying for the chairs, praying that the devil doesn't get sneaky with the electricity, praying that the powerpoint presentation goes well, waving their arms about. I just can't believe that in today's world there are still people who think silly rituals like murmuring mumbo jumbo and gyrating your body will somehow effect changes in natural processes. It seems like you'd have to be completely ignorant about everything modern and technological to think that some invisible boogeyman is causing the power to go out.
But aside from them being stuck in 2007 B.C. with their pagan rituals, I don't see a problem. Yes they are weirdos and I laugh at them, but like the main lady said, most Christians are too fat and lazy to get up and so something. And look at her how fat she is. They just like to talk a lot and feel good about themselves, but their situation is not desperate so they will not enact desperate measures. |

You are quite creative (read "dishonest with self") when it comes to dealing with language.

But like the radio guy says at the start of the movie, Jesus was a Peacemaker...turn the other cheek...how the hell do christians reconcile all the condradictions in the bible? It's like Carlin pointed out:
"Believe in me or you will burn in hell for eternity..."
But he loves you!
Sounds more like confucism to me. |

Young kids, desperate for approval, being manipulated.
I clicked on the link expecting to get a good chuckle and then come back on here to make a few smart a-- remarks. But now I am just depressed.
There is nothing worse than seeing kids used (succesfully, it seems) as pawns. |
