I don't know much but I gather Pagoda and Wall Street don't provide single housing, which means coughing up for rent out of your own pay packet every month, plus they put you on split shifts. I've never heard of the others. |

The only knowledge that I can contribute is based on what I have found in my own research here on Dave's using the search function which will be highly effective for you to use. That said, I have heard things about Pagoda in general and they were not necessarily pleasant. Stuff about very critical evaluation that often leads to some teachers getting fired before 6 months or whatever. Take all these stories with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that maybe some of those teachers deserved to be fired. I heard from one person that said they have been around for 3 years, however he somewhat confirmed that rumor.
Anyway, do your own research on here before you jump at any of these chances, and make the decisions on your own. |

I don't know if the "Alice in Wonderland" theme park is the same one I'm thinking of. I know there is an "Alice in Wonderland" park in Yangjae/Seocho area. It looks like a smallish city park, but it has lots of neat large sculpures/artwork that is Alice in Wonderland themed. There's a large main building where there is apparently some sort of hakwon. I don't know if it's a "regular" hakwon or a theme park-type hakwon, nor do I know the ages of the kids who would attend.
I don't know anything about working there, as my only experience has been with the neighborhood. But it is a very nice area, in Seoul and close to Gangnam but with the feel of a more isolated area. There are several city parks in the area, and it is a wealthier area of Seoul. It's a good neighborhood, and the park always looks clean and well-kept. The kids in this area tend to be well-behaved and their English level is usually good, because they come from wealthier families who can afford to spend money on hakwons.
I know nothing about the curriculum or administration or other details of working there, sorry. But it is a good area of Seoul. Assuming it's the same place I'm thinking it is. Sorry I can't be more helpful. |

In regards to Pagoda, it's hard for me to tell if the Pagoda the Windsor guy is advertising for is the same Pagoda as all the horror studies because I see many Pagoda ads with different locations and contact information. With all the franchises and parent companies out there, you never can tell, which I was hoping to narrow down with this guy's name. |
Last I heard, Ian Windsor is in charge of human resources for the main Pagoda branches which are directly controlled by the Pagoda corporation. These include the Jongno, Shinchon, and Gangnam branches (all in Seoul). The Busan branch is also directly owned by the Pagoda corporation, but I don't know if Ian handles their hiring or not. Control of the Pagoda branches is pretty centralized, so there isn't a huge amount of differences between them.
Unless there have been recent changes, any other Pagodas are franchises with much more independent ownership, and their policies could vary a lot more.
The three Seoul branches of Pagoda are pretty big (each employing 20-50 foreign teachers), and as far as I know there are no other Pagodas in Seoul besides the branches, so any stories you hear about Pagoda in Seoul are referring to the Pagodas that Ian is discussing with you. There are some franchises in the 'burbs, though (Incheon and Ilsan come to mind). |
