What do you like more? I like them all (Though not all of all of them.)
I think I like Korean food best. A good 갈매기살 barbecue is one of the finest foods I've found in the world. Especially when accompanied by some cheap-ass 복분주[soju+raspberry], 백세주[wonderful longevity alcohol] or even regular delicious 소주[pure crystal water with a dash of pure alcohol]. Long live Korean mastery of food and drink. |

What? No fashion option? What would you rather stare at for an hour and a half. Some lame Korean movie or this:

Agreed. That's ninety minutes you're talking about. Granted, for the sake of accuracy, I'll give it a shot -but- I'm not guaranteeing anything. |

| I love Korean food (well, I love most foods to be honest, but Korean food really hits the spot for me), particularly 뵤다기해잔국 (spelling?). There's a restaurant near my APT which makes the best version I've ever experienced. A ton of meat, delicious kimchi and 돌샅밥. I've been going there for ages but the staff still tend to treat every visit as if its the first time I've been there. A lovely old woman always tries to show me how to eat it, even though I seem to do a decent job every time! In fact, I will be heading there pretty soon to blast this mornings hangover into oblivion. |

K movies are great. They're turning out some good stuff nowadays. Impressive for such a tiny country.

If she's singing that God awful K-pop, I'll take the movie any day. |

There are a few good movies and musicians around in Korea. Not a lot though.
Don't get too carried away because Oldboy won at Cannes or whatever. Oldboy and the other half-dozen good Korean movies are exceptions in an otherwise dreary and dismal movie scene. Same goes for music. I hear good contemporary music now and then. When I ask my wife who is that, she has rarely heard of them. They are almost underground. Very few Koreans buy their records or go to their concerts. It's all about bubblegum Pop and tacky Techno here in Korea.
Sorry, but Korea would be way down my list of countries with a good, creative, music and movies scene.
The food is good though! If a little too poor sometimes. You don't have to eat everything that pops out of the ground!! |

| Musicwise, Korea has some brilliant underground bands. Of course the mainstream stuff sucks. And of course, that can probably be said about nearly every country in the world, so we'll never be able to tally it up accurately. |

Ah, music. Some of my students could not believe that the "Ave Maria" song was sang by Blondie (and they possibly ripped it off from someone else)............and American band. They all thought it was Korean original.
Oh well, they are only 6th graders.
cheers.
