|

Hey Everyone!
Kebab guy is up and running again in Iteawon. However, he has a little restaurant now right around the corner from the family mart next to the Burge King. That little street with all the nasty Korean restaurants!
But a Korean woman has opened another Kebab place in his old location! Really sucked. Guess she is trying to make $ off his old clientele. |

Yesterday was his first day to be open (just go down the side street one block and turn left at the corner) and my first visit. The food was FABULOUS!! W3,000 for a wrapped hot chicken and veggie thing, with a yohurt sauce and a hot sauce. The hot sauce kicked a**. Good eatin'! |

Kebap guy's name is Volkan. He's from Turkey and he's a nice guy. You're getting the real deal from him in terms of kebap. I have to go see him and practice Turkish.
EDIT: Fixed spelling; curse you, billyb, for keeping my error in front of everyone forever.

A Korean person ruining foreign food. Naw! Impossible!
She's making $ off his old clientele? Wow! I thought she'd be charging people in W (won) since the exchange rate favors won. She must be trying to pose as a foreigner. Is she wearing a veil over her head too? |

It's good to have my judgement confirmed, since I was pretty well lubricated when I stopped in. While he was making up my whatever it was I ate, Mr. Kebab Guy chatted away and was very friendly. There were some flyers laying around and the date 'Feb. 3' was printed, so I asked him if that was his first day. He said yes. He also told me the hours he is open, but I was not in the frame of mind to remember details like that.
I am curious what I ate. I highly doubt Turkish burrito is the right name. What did I eat? |

Which kebab guy are we talking about? When I think of Kebab guy, I think of a guy named Salid who walks around late at night. |

Volkan is stocky and balding; he's the only one I've ever dealt with. But I can imagine it's a two man operation. (Salid is an odd name; it's probably either Salih or Said)
Ya-ta, was what you had chicken/meat (lamb, I hope), with salad and sauce, wrapped in thin bread? That would be a tavuk/et durum doner. |

Actually his brother is here in Seoul and works for him in the restaurant making fresh bread. He says he's gonna start having potatoes, hummus other things. At this point his Resto only has like 3 tables. But shit its tasty, fast and healthier then most crap in T-won! |

i had my kebab today and it was so great, i ordered a second one while i was still eating my first. i had been looking for volkan, and waiting for him to reappear, so i was really happy to see this thread.
good memory on that guy, i had only eaten his kebabs once before, about 4 months ago, and he remembered me when i walked in today! i thought he was jerking my chain, but he had my name and everything...
oh yes, i will be back for more.

Had a kebab at Volkan's new place yesterday, it was fab!!
Went past his old location and there was I guess another Turkish guy running it. No sign of the Korean woman.
Also, both time I walked past there, I did not see one single customer there, whereas at Volkan's new place there was a steady stream of people.
