I'm in the process of getting my mountainbike sent over. I'm living in the deep south here in Korea. Does anyone know of any riding spots? is there a scene? I saw a good bike mag over here, but alas, it was all in Korean. I've seen some high end bikes around, but have not spoken to anyone about where they ride as they have been locals.
Does anyone have their bike over here?

Hey Kurtz

how far south are you?

A couple of years back I weighed up the cost of getting my old Kona freighted over from NZ against dropping into the Giant factory in Taiwan, where I rode it a bit and carried it back without scratches, excess baggage charges or customs hassles..

since then, it has seen the luggage compartment of many Express buses and the flambouyant protests of Minbak-hosting ajummas, let alone some crazy forking trails.

I'm spending the twilight of my Korean 'experience' on Geoje island- where there is a bit of a club scene that likes to show off the lycra on Sundays and an excellent Giant retailer/mechanic/organiser (regular meet-ups with clubs from out of town that I haven't been on yet),

too busy riding and maintaining a gnarly single trail that starts 100 metres from my apt and checking out the freaky firebreaks around the island-
whilst the trails are not always set up for cambered cornering and stepless ascending, the Korean riders and hiking locals are all excellent company in the hills,
enjoy!
