Do you find yourself getting really bored at work? I only have 18 classes a wk at my high school, so i have so much free time and it gets so boring just sitting at my desk browsing the net.

But, as my Korean friend wld say, what to do?

I know i'm not the only one bored, so what do you lot do to pass all the free time at work?

What to do to pass the time?

Before my public school told me I was suppose to do winter camp and lesson plans for each class, I was planning on creating an ESL folder.

This folder/folders would hold a lesson plan, materials, some games, worksheets, list of books related to it for a particular topic/grammar point.

For example:
Topic: Food.
Grammar Points: Little/Few, Some/Any, Like/Dislikes, Countable/Uncountable nouns, Would you like some ___?
Materials: Photocopy/Laminated food flashcards/book list/
Worksheets: Fill in the blanks, wordsearches, and so on
Games/Activities: Musical chairs: Do you like?, Go Fish for food, Learn to set a table, Waiter/Waitress role-play, Make a menu.

I would make many materials for different levels of English ability.

Sounds like I'm a dork, but I think it is great. I plan to teach for several years in many different countries. Its great to have materials already on hand. I'm planning on a folder for my school and for myself.

I remember when I first started teaching. I used the same games: Hangman, Bingo becuase I didnt know what else to do and I needed to kill time.

Well 6 weeks since I thought of that, I havent made a lot progress because my school keeps me busy with lesson planning.

It is just a thought. Other than that, if I do have time, I bring my laptop and plan computer games or sort out my iTunes, delete unnessesary files, watch a lot of Youtube or watch DVDs, chat online or go on ESLcafe like what I am doing now.
