Howdy. Could anybody give me CLEAR(ish) directions to the Korean embassy in Bangkok? I have an address that i got from the net:

23 Thiam-Ruammit Road
Ratchadapisek
Huay Kwang
Bangkok

However, i have absolutely NO clue where this is. Can anybody give more details or at least confirm that this is, indeed, the correct address? I'm going there tomorrow, so i guess this is kind of a "rush" request. Any help offered is much appreciated. Thanks.

Yea, its right off the subway but those long Thai names confuse me. Ask the ticket seller to go to Office Depot or Carrefore. Walk north, you'll have to dash across a busy street during the red light jam. Then its a 14- - 1/2 mile.

I take a metered taxi from Khao San road to Hua Lumpong (Train Station) for $2, then the subway. The subway starts there.

Thanks, dulouz. Anyone else remember the name of the subway station, by any chance?

We took a taxi from Khoasan to the embassy and it was only about 200 baht. For direct, no hassle (except horendous traffic), it was worth it us. It takes about an hour. Pick up some jars of basil pesto at the carrefour down the street while you are there!

Thanks, kat2. Out of curiousity (i'll find out tomorrow anyway), was simply giving the address sufficient information for the taxi driver, or did you have to go through a bit of a song and dance?

We had it written in Thai and handed him the paper. That was enough. Its probably a good idea to have your hotel call a taxi for you, just so you don't get some punk driver who will drive you around for two hours.

One more thing, there are specific times at which to drop off and pick up your visa. I would call ahead.
