I am gutted!! Since returning to school yesterday, I am unable to log on to youtube.com, and keep geting the DaCom Safezone warning. I've used youtube in a number of my lessons, as well as amusing myself with it during the long unproductive times that are commonplace at my school. Is youtube the latest "internet threat" to the good citizens of Korea?

Myspace Video ... is that the same, or different? How about Google video?

I can't fault them for blocking it. Not one bit. Too many things on there that students shouldn't see. Also, there are so many videos dealing with Korea and North Korea. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it blocked nationally as a whole.

you must have been checking out porn on there. the school computer monitor can shut down sites at will. on the other hand, most foreign sites are barred by "safezone". Even google!
my guess is that the PC room owners shut down all my preferential sites to stop me coming in and scaring away all his Korean customers by not being korean. Rolling Eyes

You do know that You Tube is being sued by Fox, etc.? Will probably be less to see on that site over the following months if it isn't completely shut down.

Really? That's a shame it is a really useful teaching tool.

I've been blocked from accessing YOUTUBE at a few PC BANGS.

That silly "Safe Zone" censorship thing is just a wee bit too much some times.

South Korea is just making the transition easier for when North Korea takes over. Bigger question is....when will Dave's be banned in Korea? The new Net Police are on the prowl against anything that says negative things against korea or koreans
