I have to do a run pretty soon and i'm just looking into flights, the return flights leave a 13.00 and 17.30?
what is the earliest time i can collect my passport and visa from the embasssy in osaka?
is there any chance of making the 13.00 flight out of osaka?

It's all in the visa run sticky.
Drop your application off before 4pm on day 1 and pick it up after 1:30 on day 2.
You need to do an overnighter.
You CANNOT make the 13:00 flight if you are picking up at 13:30.
It is about an hour from the consulate to the airport (assuming you don't get lost). |

I just did this, less than two weeks ago. I dropped my application off at 1:30 pm and picked it up at 9:30 the next morning.
You should ask the girl at the counter what is the earliest time you can pick up your visa. Because I picked mine up at 9:30 am, I was able to make it on the 1:40 pm flight. You can drop off between 9:30 & 11:30, then between 1:30 and 4 pm. Pick up is the same time.
But it all depends on whether they are able to process it in that amount of time. Which they USUALLY are able to do, no problem. But if you drop it off at 3:59 then I don't know if you can realistically expect it to be finished by 9:31 the next morning.
You may want to call the Osaka embassy/consulate and ask them before you book your flight. The girl who processes the visas speaks English pretty well. |
