|
|
My mom's coming in to Incheon this Friday at 9:40 pm, but I can't meet her. Now I assumed there was some kind of service or business for meeting her and putting her on a bus to my city but haven't been able to find any. If anyone here either can meet her or knows someone who can, know that I'm happy to pay. Just PM me if interested. |

If I can offer a suggest: There are plenty of english speaking people in the terminal who can point out the bus ticket booths directly outside the doors of the airport. Tell your mom to walk out the door to outside, and there will be bus booths everywhere. Go up to one and say the name of your city (or you can email it to her and she can print it off and show it to the ticket people). I did it without knowing any Korean when I came, without even knowing about the bus booths. There's English everywhere ,it could not be simpler. |

Are you sure you want to trust some stranger from this board to meet your Mom? I say tell your boss you want a sick day, and go greet your Mom. |

I agree take the day off. If that's really not possible, then send you mom instructions written in Korean that she can print off. you'll probably want to send it as an image (jpg or gif) 'cause she probably won't have a Korean font. |

It was already a fight to take the next week off.

True enough. But a gentleman has his mother picked up.

Where do you live? Isn't it about the same cost to pay someone to meet her as it is to have a taxi driver her into town from the airport (assuming you live in Seoul?). |

Be warned: you'd better check what time the buses stop. I got into the airport at about that time one night and by the time I got to the bus stop I was informed that my bus (to Dobongsan) had "finishee." |

The easiest thing I found was the KAL Limo (bus). It's easy to find in the terminal, cheap enough (about 12,000 won) and comes every 20 min. The stop is 10a outside. Just tell here you are going to meet her at one of the bloody expensive hotels in Seoul and that's that. If she is early, she can buy herself a 10 dollar soft drink or an 18 dollar Guiness (Westin Chosan) while she waits.
Just another idea for ya. |

There is a pickup service. It will cost you somewhere from 60k-100k . The driver will wait for the person at the exit and take the person to where ever within Seoul or satellite cities. Done it many times when I used to recruit. |

The tolls alone in and out of Incheon are 16 or 18.000 won. 60.000 is pretty cheap for a drop-off service. I think it would be best if they could have an agent though, with your mom's name on a card, waiting at the arrivals fence, so she can have things done simply without fuss.
More professional that way, too. |
