There seems to be a lot of complaining on this site about the way Korean stend to exagerate their history and accomplishments. It can't be denied, they are often over zealous with their nationalism, but they do have something over the Americans and us British from a historical point of view.
They (Koreans) are not responsible for the murder and abuse of millions of people like we are. We're responsible for so much evil crap thats happened in this world how can we be so arrogant and act like we're superior.
We're responsible for the slave trade for christs sake!
As for their language, of course its not very useful but they should be proud of it. As one Korean recently said to me, at least they can claim to having their own language, unlike the Americans.
I'm sure a few Americans hate me for that one. Any fellow English men/women with me on this? |

That's the stupidest thing I have heard this week. Americans (Canadians, Australians, etc.) are for the most part British descendents, so their native language IS English. |

Ummmmmmmmmmmm...no.
Yeah, we dabbled in slave trading for a few centuries, but nowhere near on the scale that countries in Asia, Africa, and the Southern Americas have.
And as far as having oodles of pride for a historically irrelevant and globally obsolete language, they can hoot and holler all they want. I'll take English for $3000, Alex. |

This post is going to get torn apart.
I'll start with this:

Remember there were a lot of Koreans who sold out their country to the Japanese, enabling slavery, suppressing dissent, and taking property. |

And to add to that, there was slavery during the Joseon period, as well. Probably before that, too. |

There are so many intelligent things one could say to mock us Americans...This is just plain stupid. It seems to me that the Brits would not be speaking English had they not been conquered by the Normans in 1066, who stole their native language and bastardized it into their own. Now, there's something to be proud of! |

we dabbled in the slave trade! You ignoramous! Read up my friend, read. Funny how none of the responses are denying that we (British and American) are responsible for more wrong doing in the world than Koreans.
You lot make me laugh. Why is it so hard to be honest about your past. |

Don't change the subject peeps. I'm just pointing out that our wrong doing in history is endless. At least Korean don't have such a evil trait in them (historically speaking)
I think some of u misunderstood my initial comments. I didnt write this to insult Americans. |

Um, I'm speaking for my own country here, and as a nation, America has done more PERIOD than Korea. Both good and bad. We've made more advancements in science, technology and medicine in 100 than Korea has in 5,000.
In my opinion, the good outweighs the bad. |
