|
|
This is my first time attempting to teach overseas so I went through a recruiter that seemed reputable. I'm having a phone interview with them tommorrow and I was wondering if theres anything in specific I should be asking them. As far as I know this is all prejob offer stuff so contract specifics seem off topic.
Thanks |

What kind of offer? Kindergartern, middle/elementary, Public High School, adults?
I would be quite specific if I were you and remember that any foreigner that they give you talk to at the school will may be under considerable pressure to replace himself at the end of a contract.
How many years has it been operating? How big? How many students? How many teachers (english speaking foreigners) How long have the foreigners been teaching (any signed up again?)
All good questions |

In my opinion, you should be telling them more what you want in a job. Remember, they are working for you and get money only when they get you into a school. One thing to ask when they actually recommend a school is if there are any foreigners at the school, ask for their contact information. Try to get in contact with them when they are not at school so they can't be influenced by a boss standing behind them. Myself, I'm going to try to ask for pictures of the school/apartment. It could be fruitless, but also rewarding if it pays off. |
