Now, maybe, just maybe, if Chuck E. Cheese will delete the last post on this thread, I will be able to delete all these extraneous, unintended posts.

Maybe.

Dear OP, as someone in the same position as you, I can tell you searching the job ads on Dave's and every other job listing site everyday to see what greener pastures lie out there....DOESN'T help. Like others have said, alcohol helps somewhat..and I don't know where I'd be without the laptop. Good luck to ya.

I'm losing my FREAKING mind in my town.

Only thing that keeps me going is that I dont spend ANY money during the week, and I send home 75% of my paycheques and live ok....

Just bored....I hit the gym 5X a week, sometimes twice a day.

At this rate I wont have to stay the entire year to reach my financial goal, which is a bonus.

Next time I come back here I'm picking a better town!!

Can I ask what part of Korea you live in? One's quality of life here really does rest on how happy you are overall. The fact that you are saving that much (I am too in fact) is great, but if things are not good in your workplace and town...life turns in to a living hell of sorts. I'm over five months in and really feel worn down from the many small problems at work combined with absolutely NO social life in or outside of it. I feel your pain. Chalk it up as one of life's learning experiences...never to be repeated again. Laughing

lol...you're right. I've spent countless hours wasted away playing BF2, Heroes of the Pacific, and pretty much any other game I can get my torrent on. Very Happy

I'm in the province of Jellobuk-do.

Ya the no social life is what is killing me, it sucks cause I have a WICKED apt, the job is fine. I've read about a lot worse. It's the usual shit last min changes, bored kids, stupid conversation classes, bad books, classes not organized by skill but by age.

Nothing I havent read before, I get paid ON TIME. My director's are really nice to me, dont harrass me. They tried to blame me for kids leaving but I blew it off, I dont care, I know how they work.

The social life is killing me though, at home I have a fairly large circle of friends, and here....NOTHING.

I'm trying to get in to another town, where i know some people. But I'll only go if I can get same amount of money, nice apt, good directors. I'll worry about an LOR later IF I find a position actually worth leaving for...

Championship Manager? Please don't tell me you play that game - it was mutilated when the original creators left a few years ago, and now the only football manager game worth playing is.......Football Manager 2007! I've just gotten Dinamo Minsk of Belarus past the group stages of the Champions League - by winning the group - so you can imagine how often I play it!

Civ 4 is amazing too...we should have a multiplayer game some time!

um... we've got championship manager 2007. i've never played any other version, but the boyfriend has. i think he had the same opinion as you re: mutilation. so we ordered football manager last year when we were in china, but the copy we got (for some bizarre reason) was defective (and, yes, it was ordered from the UK). so we got championship manager 2007 a few months ago.

side note: i'm getting whipped in our yahoo! fantasy football league (me, my dad, my boyfriend. i'm ranked second, but the bf is really kicking butt). but it's my first year that i've really been into footie! i think i have an excuse.

Nice. In case anyone is interested, usually ebay is the cheapest place to buy FM2007 and have it shipped over to Korea.

Seems like a few are in the same boat. What's your salary for working in an empty town?
Maybe i should get internet hooked up at my place.
