|
|
I like to have some information from people on Dave's.
Korean-American who hold Green Card can stay in korea for 2 years, but Korean-American who took American citizenship only can stay in Korea about 2 months.
I hold an American passport.
I visit Korea once every 6 months, but never have stayed longer than 2 weeks.
Now I plan to go back Korea in year 2008 and live at there at least 4-5
years. I've read about F4 visa on Dave's, is F4 visa for korean-American like me ?? Unfortunately I don't have much knowledge for this area, how can I stay in korea 4-5 years ?
My future life will be in America because I have a daughter who is half Swedish-American, but I want to do some stuffs in Korea before my daugher reachs certain age, one of things is take care my grandmother who is 87 year olds and also look some business opportunity.
Any idea ??
Thanks |

hey misssseoul,
i've tried looking for information on that thread a dozen times.
immigration rules have changed and even after calling them, i couldn't get a difinitive answer to whether i can renew my F4.
if one or both of your parents is still a korean citizen, then there should be no problem with the F4, but if they naturalized, there could potentially be a problem.
so....if you have any more questions, pm me- i have to go there in the next week or so anyway. |

Forget the F-4 Visa, that's only for specific koreans.
you can pay a late charge of about $150 to extend your visa for about 6 weeks giving you about 2 and a half months total.
But you need to make up an excuse to extend your stay, such as losing your passport. Just make something up as to why you can't leave within the 30 days. |

Sorry, i missed the part where you were Korean-American. Then get an F-4, very simple.
YOu'll need
-Citizenship or Naturalization papers
-Passport
-Registery of your FAmily in Korea
Then you bring it to Immigration, tell them you want an F-4, pronto! |
