Hi I'm going to China feb 25 (Beijing) I was wondering about exchanging money, wither it is best to do it here or when i arrive in China... does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

didn't notice much exchange rate difference between Pusan & Shanghai airports last month..
don't forget to carry a decent sized sack to carry it around with you Wink

*if you plan to use your international ATM card over there, you need to add two zeros to either the start or end of your regular 4 digit code.

I exchanged money at the Beijing airport, good exchange rate. Be careful for counterfeit bills, even the banks give them out.

Korean ATM card or otherwise???

I used my Australian card in Beijing without doing what you suggested; is this for Korean cards???

I stand corrected- some cards require 00XXXX or XXXX00

it's a Commonwealth Bank of Australia card, by the way triple J

I would also recommend that you convert your won to US dollars, since it is a fixed exchange compared the floating rate between Won-RMB
