Hey,
I'm hoping to go to Beijing next weekend. I get that it takes a week to get visa for China so that should be ok. The problem is that I need a multiple-entry visa thingy to get back to Korea from China. Does anyhone know how long that takes? If the worst came to the worst could I get it on my way back from China or something? Oh these spur of the moment plans have their down-sides...

IF you are first in line at the local immigration office you can get your multiple re-entry stamp in about 15 minutes. Cost varries depending on your nationality. For most it is 50k won.
If you can't get to the local immigration office you can get a SINGLE re-entry permit from the immigration office at the airport before you leave.
They are located at the back of the departures hall between F and G check-in counters (before you go through security).
The cost is 30k won. They are open from 6:30am - 10:00pm. Takes 15-45 minutes depending on the lineup in front of you. |

| Cheers for that. Hopefully I'll get my re-entry stamp nice and quickly then throw my passport in to get the China visa. I'm sure it'll all get sorted ok... |

You can now do online booking for your appointment at the immigration office. IN fact, you could do that more than a year ago.. check out www.immigration.go.kr
In fact..
Here:
http://www.moj.go.kr/ca/civilinfo/CAINFO0000.jsp?civilcd=II027
There should be a pop-up if you haven't blocked it.. and it has English on it to explain the procedure to make online reservation.
More: if you don't read Korean, just click the red button at the bottom to take you to the next page, which is bilingual and explains things in both Korean and English.
You need to create an account to use it first. |
