| In AIDS patients the viral load becomes very low. For a time. This is kind of the natural progression of the disease. Thinking you can't detect HIV is not necessarily evidence of a cure. |

| This Iranian article was mentioned on a skeptical podcast I listen to, hosted by a Yale MD. He said the Iranians were claiming natural Iranian herbs cured AIDS. He did a literature search and found nothing at all about any research in Iran about herbs and AIDS. Iran has been experience a big jump in AIDS because of increased heroine use. The Taliban need to finance that war and are pumping out the opium. Anyway, Iran (like South Africa and a couple other african nations) are in serious denial about the AIDS problem. It's much easier to claim to your people you got a cheap cure than prepare actual drugs and bear the cost. |

The article doesn't say he's going to be presenting any data or research. It just states:
Lankarani is in Isfahan to attend the 53rd Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the East Mediterranean.
Unless Iranian scientists have been doing this research in 100% secret, I would highly, highly doubt there's a shred of credible evidence. I would put this on par with the claim by the Gambian president that he can cure AIDS.
"The mandate I have is that HIV/Aids cases can be treated on Thursdays. That is the good news and the bad news is that I cannot treat more than ten patients every Thursday. There is nothing I can do about it and if I go beyond that I will have to pay the price."
He (the president, personally) can cure you of AIDS on Thursday. See him on Friday if you have asthma. |
