I'm actually selling the computer for an equivalent of 200k won since the two new batteries I bought in the last month were about that (little more). I won't sell just the computer, however.

I use it for watching movies on the go, and my eyes aren't bad enough yet that I can't see the screen. The Sony machines have a really good zoom function conveniently located on the screen side that makes the small screen size moot. The web page gets resized to the zoomed (bigger) specifications automatically and reverted automatically too, so that is why I think that the smallness of the screen is moot. When I use MSWord at 200% zoom, I don't have to use the screen zoom function to get a nice fat, legible size. The key feels small only for the right shift key, that I often miss because it is narrower (the size of a regular key).

The specs for the TR generic system are HERE.

The specs there are a little different because I bought the fully loaded version (model PCG-TR5L), which has instead

1) Intel Pentium M processor at 1100MHz clock speed

2) 764MB RAM

3) 40 GigaByte HDD

4) DVD/CD-RW spindle drive
It also says that the thing is 3.1 pounds, and I have no idea how much that is in kilos, and I really don't want to do the math to figure it, so there.

I also bought for it

1) a total of four batteries (2 bought within the last month, at about 200k won each; very handy for long writing/working/movie-watching sessions away from your desk),

2) an extra recharger AC/DC converter (I don't like lugging around things), for a total of two chargers,

3) a 3M privacy filter.

I have installed on it,

1) the licensed (original, but Korean) Windows XP (I have a pirate copy of Windows XP with the product key that I'll throw in, if you want),

2) MicroSoft Office 2002 (I think it is pirate),

3) Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (or more commonly known as "Acrobat Writer"),

4) Hangul 2004,

5) Altools Alsee and Alzip (very useful tools for picture viewer and zip filing, respectively).

However, on the down side,

1) I lost the original CDs that came with the computer (good for reformatting, though I have done so recently in the last 3 months or so). I have learned that you can buy it again, but it was involved and cost some money (I don't remember). I could give you a copy of the email (in Korean) that explained what I needed to do to get those original CDs.

2) The motion eye mini-camera doesn't work, and it will cost 70k won to fix it, according to the Sony Korea service center (02-515-7346). Since I never used it when it worked, I didn't bother fixing it.

3) No dead pixels. I am just selling it to get a different system.
I have never had to get it serviced (except for the motion eye)

PM me if you are interested (you do know how to use the PM or personal message function, right?--click the "you have (no new) messages" thing on top of page and let your IQ take it from there).

I was just searching the net for info about my computere and turns out we have the same one...at least it looks pretty similar, the model # i have is a little different.

anyway, you wrote that you didn't have the original reformating cds. i need the third one, so i was wondering if you could pass on the kroean email that says how to get it....or any other info...website, phone #.

anything you can share would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much for your time,
